    It's alright, the CD has to grow on you. Q Tip shouldn't make horrible songs like "Vivrant Thing", "Breathe & Stop" and "End Of Time" . Those songs turn his Tribe fans off. My favorite songs are "Higher", "Let's Ride" and "Things U Do". The second si...de sucks and brings the album rating down. I like when he makes jazz influenced songs. Read more Less

    I have followed the Tribe for a long time, and have all of their albums, my favorite was Beats, Rhymes and Life. I also have Amplified, and I have to say Q-tip changed his style. Not his delivery, he's one of the best at that, but his lyrics. He had ...more of a message to send to those who were listening back then. Sure he had cuts like "Bonita Applebum and Electric Relaxtion", but not all his songs were about hookin' up with a honey. And that seemed to be what he was rappin' about for the most part in Amplified. Still, I liked the beats, and Q-Tip's rapping voice and delivery is one of the best around. Phife's first solo album to me had more of the messages that the Tribe would send to those who were listening. They both have excellent solo's, but they are better working together. Read more Less

    I HAVE REALLY ENJOYED Q-TIP'S MUSICAL STYLE. HIS BEATS WILL MAKE YOU WIGGLE AND JIGGLE. HIS LYRICS MAKE YOU THINK AND STIMULATE YOUR THOUGHTS.

    tip did his thing on this one. a lot of people don't like the dance songs, but the beats are tight and tip's laid back lyrics are perfect for the type of beats on the album. i love jaydee (producer). see slum village and common albums for more of hi...s mellow tracks. but anyway, i like this album better than the last 2 tribe albums (though they were not bad). i love bumpin that "lets ride" on the way to the club.     This solo album is the s**t, it has great bouncing beats and rolling lyrics that make your head nod. This album is a must have in you collections, and will be a top listen.

    Amplified is Weak

    Q Tip's nasal tones, do not fill most of the songs on "Amplified" all that well. Other than "Breathe and Stop" and the played out, but still bumpin, "Vivrant Thing", most of the songs are pretty lame. Most of the songs sound the same; I can't tell t...he difference between a lot of them. This highly anticipated album, although is largely stupid, will only add to the rapper's fame, and he'll build on his mistakes presented in Amplified. Read more Less
