Alberto Comesaña and Cristina del Valle met for the first time in 1989, when Comesaña was leading a pop/rock band called Semen Up and del Valle was performing as a solo artist known as Cris. That same year, they moved to Madrid and started calling themselves Amistades Peligrosas. Teaming up with producer Luis Carlos Esteban, they signing with EMI in 1990.
