ok but not great

Cons: doesn't reach as the standeds as well as there past albums
when i first saw the clip of pretty fly for a white guy i could see it was obvious

Pros: the sound, the songs, and the fun
Cons: few fillers
i'd give it 3.5 stars. it's a pretty good album. a little bit short but it came just a year after ixnay on the hombre. it's definitely more pop and they developped their gimmick side more and there's a few novelty songs. but it feels like a natural change and not an attempt to sell-out.

This album is a good album, even if people thinks offspring can't be punks anymore, to these people i answer "Staring At The Sun", "No Brakes" ,"Have You ever", "Americana", "Feelings" and "Walla Walla". Sure the other songs are more pop punk or even pop rock with "Why don't You Get a Job" but I'm pretty sure you didn't know Offspring before this album (if you're like me) and After having this album you should buy Smash if u want more punk songs like the one I wrote.

Other than Pretty fly, and WDYGAJ, this is a damn good album. Pay The Man is a personal favorite. i think that people were quick to jump on trashing this album because of those two songs and the fact that offspring started appearing on MTV because of those cheesy songs. allthough this is a really good album, for those who are new to offspring, i'd suggest you go out and buy Smash or Ixnay on the Hombre

im not to impressed with this. there are 2 or 3 good songs. pretty fly for a white guy and why dont you get a job were overplayed on the radio and on mtv. this kind of brings the album down. i like the offspring but if your going to buy and offspring album buy conspiracy of one.

Americana is one of the best Offspring CD's yet! I can't believe the punk/hardcore that fills this CD! It may not be as good as Smash, Ixay, or Ignition, but it rules. Actually, it ties with Ignition. Buy it, if you know what's good for you!

HEY!!, does this make sense: OHHHthis cd is popular so that means it sucks .All i can say to these people is to value the "MUSIC" . I can say this is the best album they did ,and because it just sounds GRREAT ,and i also can say that conspiracy of one is good , BUT not great , and conspiracy of one is popular ,

Oh dear. The Offspring have messed this one up. SOME of the songs are PRITTY FLY but more than half of this album should be locked up where nobody can find it. I hear you screaming BUT ITS THE BEST, well not in my books it ain't. If some one played you NO BRAKES, WALLA WALLA and AMERICANA you would want to buy this album, but take my advise DON'T. GO GET IXNAY INSTEAD.

I just love how Dexter Holland, Noodles, Greg K., and Ron Welty make such good punk music. The Offspring technically run down every aspect of American life, and make it sound funny(well, beside the "Kids aren't all right", which is one of the best Offspring songs.) My second favorite Offspring album.

Sorry, but that's all they'll ever amount to. You see, this CD desperately wants to be punk rock. But it isn't. Because punk is hard, anarchic music that does peoples' heads in. This, on the other hand, is soft-rock wannabe crap that brainwashed twelve year-old MTV-loving girls enjoy listening to.
If you want some proper punk music then I suggest you buy a Pitchshifter album. Not only are they as hard as
Alternatively, if you want good hard music, then these are your bands: Rage Against the Machine, Nine Inch Nails, Tool, Ministry and of course, the mighty Prodigy.

Very good album! ok, so maybe it's as punkish as their earlier albums.
Americana has fast drumming, cool guitar solos, and 'wo hoas' in they're lyrics. What more could you want from a punk band?

you have no idea what real music is and if you did you wouldn't diss this album because if you listen to Pretty Fly for a White Guy htta sounds very punk to me and if you've heard Dude Ranch by Blink 182at the end of the Cd there is a song similar to that and how could you diss the Kids Aren't All Right those are some serious instrumentals

Alright album, like i said before the offspring are the best but some how this album is not as good as the others, but it does have some of the best work of vocals,lyrics and music but some how it dosnt sound as good!

I think that they did abandon their punk roots. I mean listen to Ignition or Self Titled then listen to Americana, and you can hear a difference. Oh well you can't change anything.
