    I've had the opportunity to listen to this cd a few times the past few days... so i'll just break it down for you... 01 - Fantasia Barrino - She sings "Chain of Fools" and sounds even worse than she does on tv. This song reminds me ...of fingernails on a chalkboard. Although I think I'd prefer to hear the fingernails over her whinny voice. 02 - George Huff - He sings "Me and Mrs Jones." Its alright. Nothing that stand out. Gets quite boring towards the end.03 - Diana DeGarmo - She sings "I Heard It Through The Grapevine." Sounds pretty good, but doesn't have the "oomph" in it. 04 - Latoya London - She sings "If You Dont Know Me By Now." Boy this girl sure knows how to sing and belt out a tune. One of the better ones on this cd. 05 - Jennifer Hudson - She sings "Neither One of Us" and I have to congratulate her on actually singing a song where she doesn't go over the top. Its pleasant sounding.06 - Amy Adams - She sings "You Make Me Feel Brand New." Its good. I think her and Diana would have done better exchanging songs.07 - Matt Rogers - He sings "Sitting on the Dock of the Bay." I must say, this is actually quite good! Very good song selection and he does it justice. Makes me wonder why he was voted off so early. 08 - Jasmine Trias - She sings "Midnight Train To Georgia". This is hands down the best female track on the album. She sings this song great!09 - Jon Peter Lewis - He sings "My Girl" and this is the perfect song for him. He does is great and its the best male track on the cd. This makes me wonder also why he got voted off so early.10 - Camile Velasco - She sings "Until You Come Back To Me". Its good. Thats it. Good.11 - Leah LaBelle - She sings "Betcha By Golly Wow" and if she had sung like this in the competition, she just might still be there... ah, the powers of the soundboard...12 - John Stevens - He sings "You Are My Everything". Its good. Better than I expected. Still could have picked a better song choice.13 - All - They sing "Aint No Mountain High Enough" and I feel they focus too much on Fantasia in the song. Its alright. The version they sang live that one night was better. Now these are clearly my opinions... just my opinions. Read more Less

    Pros: good selection of songs

    Cons: wrong songs for certain artist

    1. Fantasia - this is not an easy song to sing she handles it with good command..2. George Huff - He definetly did this song justice...nice changes and twist to the classic...3. Diana Degarmo - reminded me of the talent shows from high school...cute ...but no cigar4. LaToya London - This Lady is a cut above and needs a contract...she laid this song out ...Harold Melvin is proably in heaven applauding.5. Amy Adams - You Make Me Feel Brand New is one of my favorite songs... she does a pretty good job with it..a little plain.6. Matt Rogers - He Did a great job with this song...Showed a lot of passion7. Jasmine Trias - Not sure why she was given this song..Gladys Knight and the Pips proably cringed on this redition8. Jon Peter Lewis - Turned a classic Motown hit into a country nightmare i think another song would have been better for him.9. Camile Velasco - This song and her performance gave me more respect for this young lady...very well done10. Leah Labelle - she does a pretty good job with this song..not the best but good11. John Stevens - I don't get it!!...he and this music is not even close to the caliber of the others...WHYYY??12. Ensemble - This shows the talents true to form..comparing all ...and speaks volumes for talents side by side.. Read more Less

    Pros: They all sounded good

    Cons: pretty boring

    Many of the contestants on this sound better on the cd than on the show. For example Leah Labelle is pretty good and also MAtt Rogers. Im ver pleased John Stevens did very well on the cd just like he did in the show. It is no surprise that LaToya, Fa...ntasia, and George were very good as well. Even though they all sounded good, the whole cd is pretty boring. Most songs were not very entertaining and upbeat. My overall rating is a "4" Read more Less

    Cons: could have had more by Jennifer Hudson

    I think the album was done in a great way. I think it could have been better if you had more of Jennifer Hudson and LaToya London.

    I think this cd is better than season 2 overall. Im very impressed that John Stevens, Leah Labelle, Camille Velasco and Matt Rogers sang far better on this cd than on television. Im sure part of the reason was nerves and sharp criticism. Jennifer Hud...son put in the best performance with a brilliant version of "Neither one of us wants to be the first to say goodbye". George Huff did a fantastic job of "Me and Mrs Jones. I enjoyed everybody except Amy Adams and Jasmine Trias. I think the ensemble of "Ain't no mountain high enough" was excellent. Read more Less

    i think tha third album was great...the song choices showcase all of their voices, especially camile,jeniffer,george and fantasia. im just wondering why amy chooses that oh so boring song,"you make me feel brand new" im not saying that the ...song is not good. i love love the orignal version of it, but it just not fit her voice.and also diana's "iv'e heard it through the grapevine" it doesn't work for her that much. i really love bout the album is jasmine's "midnight train" because its better than the original which is more faster, a great choice of song. im so happy that leah shined more in tha album rather than in tha stage.her version of" betcha by golli wow" is very very good. i just think that the ensemble is very bias, the four black singers are the only ones who handles all of the singing. i hope that next time, the mixer of the song will give each of the 12 contestants an equal part in the ensemble............     What is soul? You have these young people trying to be America's next pop Idol and have no experience in understanding the meaning of soul. You have children singing music that they don't understand. However, the ability to sing is another.... I smiled when I heard Fantasia and Jennifer, George isn't to bad either. Read more Less
