Former Letters to Cleo drummer Stacy Jones has followed the Dave Grohl route and moved from the drums to the front with his new band American Hi-Fi. Taking the Letters to Cleo formula for catchy punk-rock-pop and adding some 'whoop-ass' to it, Stacy and his crew have put out this years best album to date. Filled with radio friendly tunes like "Flavor of the Weak" and "I'm a Fool" and accented with crunchers like the opening track "Surround", this album is perfect for putting the top down and pushing your car to 90 on the highway. Ecxellent album by a band with an incredibly bright future...I just hope more people pay attention to American Hi-Fi than they did to Letters to Cleo. Catch them on MTV's Campus Invasion tour this spring!!!!! ...
American Hi Fi iz the
these guys have alot of nerve to call themselves a metal band after making the flavor of the week song, NEVER have i heard, a guy claiming to be in a metal band, bitch so much about a girl....next to puddle of mud. but these guys lack talent, the reason as to how they got signed is beyond me.
For the last few years, I've been waiting for a cd with as great a sound as this album. I love the vocals, the guitars, and the lyrics. I am really into the songs "Fool" and "Hi-Fi Killer", but I love all of it! This cd is just what I've been wanting for so long, and I highly recommend to anyone to buy it!
Hi Guys!
The American Hi-Fi ST-Album is really great. It's damn good. And I tell you what... Buy this f*cking CD and you are going to be a Fan of this group!
I saw the guys live on stage in November - they rock!! My fave songs are: Flavor of the Weak, Scar, Another Perfect Day and I'm a Fool.
American Hi-Fi's first CD is a smoothly-produced first effort. Although I found many of the songs somewhat repetitive (riffs and hooks borrowed from cheap trick, blink 182, later punkish hard rock bands), it's a pretty good CD. There are a few great 'driving on the highway' songs that really rock, such as "surround" and "scar", as well as more thoughtful offerings. Although you'll grow tired of it pretty quickly, it's a CD that's worth picking up.
i loved the cd. my favorites are 'don't wait for the sun' and 'safer on the outside'. some good stuff...you all should check it out!
albums pretty good but does them no justice, go see em live, they're much heavier more metally, cool stuff
this cd pretty much sucks aside from Flavor Of The Weak i bought the cd for that and found out thats all i really got that was quality stay away from American HiFi they suck aside from that one song along with Sum41 their just another band that will turn out like Blink182 cept they wont be as annoying and talentless.
I really like this CD. I heard some negative things about it but they quit playin Flavor of the Weak and Another Perfect Day on the radio all the time so I had to get it. But I really enjoy it. I has fun lyrics and beats.
I love to put this in the c.d. player in my car anytime I am with my girlfriend, it is a great c.d. or pop/rock.
If you like this kind of music (punk, rock) this is the BEST cd you can buy! Every song on this CD is worth listening to which you can't say about most CDs!!! Flavour of the Week and Surround are the best... This is the best CD out there so BUY IT!!!
Drucifer777 is right, they suck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this is like the patridge family o t nineties!!
just listening to it made me embaressed!!
yeah this album is the bomb it is even better than hybird theory from linkin park
this is a really good album. my favourite song is, 'Scar'.
I thought this cd was gonna be punk music. It's not. It's gay pop. FLavor of the weak was a good song, but the rest of the songs suck. Don't by it if you're into punk music.
flavour of the weak is the best song, rest of the songs aren't as good but still kick ass!!
I bought the cd 4 weeks ago and I like every single track! And for the ones that are complaining about the cursing, it has more than just two curse words, morons, I like the album and the band!!!
I saw these guys live at the HOB in Myrtle Beach, SC; they opened for Everclear. I heard Oasis/Blink 182 delivered by talented but highly juvenile musicians. The music was kind of catchy but not in a "career musician" kind of way. They trashed their instruments at the end of the show which again was nothing new nor original. Mother F@$ker was the word of the evening. Mind you, I'm not a prude but this was an ALL AGES show in a tourist area with a tremendous amount of children present. I also know had it not been all ages it probably wouldn't have sold out.
Just a little insight from a true open-minded music lover.
I left the album unrated as I haven't heard all of it; only some of it.
those songs are pretty good but the rest of the cd in only ok.
this cd is the man! every song on it rocks
this band bites. im into the curseing stuff and i buy the cd and its got 2 curses.
its a cool cd these guys are good rockers but they should loose the pop edge
I love the cd. I met the band at a concert they did with Our Lady Peace in Charlotte. They are some of the coolest guys I have ever met. Rock on!!!
