Created with the intention of wearing down the dividing lines between hardcore and punk rock and writing songs that deal with the nuts and bolts of real life, Ambitions was formed in 2005 by Jay Aust (vocals), Jeffrey Aust (guitar) and Jon Ross (bass), all of whom were previously members of the respected straight edge/metalcore group With Honor.
