Amateur League Golf features hazardous courses and eight characters, including a blonde bombshell named Candy, an arrogant Scot known as Angus, and the dark overlord, Satan. Additionally, caddies offer club and distance suggestions, and, if they offer poor advice, you can beat 'em up The ~Newark Municipal Golf Course features large mountains of trash, smog and non-working golf carts, and ~Mosquito Greens of Okeechobee is filled with swamplands and alligators, so your caddy's life is at stake.

Simon Schuster Interactive has also incorporated a ~Composure Response System that responds to how well you're golfing; when you buckle under the extreme pressure of golf, your golfer loses his or her composure and flubs shots. Amateur League Golf also features a three-click swing meter: the first represents power, the second and third regulate hooks and slices. You also have the option to compose yourself after a shot by abusing the caddy. An Exhibition mode offers stroke or match play and a "skins" game with up to four players competing. Tournament is a single-player competition against computer-controlled opponents.

Additional options include overhead views of each hole, an icon bar featuring camera angles, a wind and distance indicator, the course overlay, a club selector, and both mouse and keyboard controls.
