The Altec Lansing FX6021 with InConcert technology is a 3-piece system for the music, gaming, or home theater enthusiast. A revolution in pro audio, InConcert technology enables the FX6021 to deliver crisp, clean, full-volume sound that feels like its being directed right at you. InConcert Technology directs the sound straight ahead and to the sides, not up and down. So the sound is pure and clean, uncluttered by reflections from the ceiling or floor. Two ultra-slim satellites feature a total of twelve 1" neodymium micro drivers, with each pair of micro drivers powered by its own discrete amplifier. A 6.5" ported subwoofer completes the sound with low-frequency, full-throated bass.

    Altec Lansing FX-6021

    In terms of sound quality, the FX-6021's satellites produce impressive sound quality whether you're up close or across the room. We were impressed by their excellent detail and midrange, as well as some of the best imaging and soundstage -- the recreation of the placement of instruments and voices -- of any ""computer"" speakers we've heard. Our one complaint is minor: The 50-watt subwoofer has a mere 6.5"" driver; it can't produce the lowest of lows, and those looking for ""kickin'"" bass should consider something like the Cambridge SoundWorks models. However, we found that the overall sound produced by the FX-6021 more than made up for this shortcoming: The FX-6021 is currently our favorite speaker system, for both its sound and its design.     Altec Purports Pro Sound with Lansing FX 6021 Speakers

    The "InConcert" technology, that Altec Lansing makes such a big deal about, did not really convince us but the FX 6021 speakers are still pretty good acoustic speakers that will be a great addition to any PC. All that remains is the price which, unfortunately, is a lot higher than that of current 2.1 speaker models and this is not justified by the results that we obtained. The esthetics of the design and the directionality of the speakers may respond to specific needs, thus making this product the best choice for some consumers. Read more
