    No Random Play! Watch out!

    Pros: Alpine quality, slim body

    Cons: No random play/mix feature for all disks in changer

    Alpine's website lists a feature of this product as "M.I.X. (Random Play)" but it is misleading. Although their head units support the random play/mix all function, all new CD changers do not - including this one. You can random play... ONE disk at a time only. As a consumer, I find myself asking "Why would I purchase a CD changer that does no more than the head unit? And why would a new head unit advertise a feature that is no longer being manufactured, yet limit their customers to purchasing only their products?". This CD changer is a $200+ CD storage bin. With the same features available on most new head units, I don't believe it is worth the money without the random play all feature. Read more Less

    Cons: no random mix/jukebox feature, magazine flimsy

    At least I got mine used on ebay for $100 bucks. I had no clue that the fine print on this thing says the "Mix All" function to randomly play all 6 cds doesnt work with Ai-net. It "might" work with Mini-Bus to Ai-Net on older Mini...-BUS type head units though? Whats up with that? Why would an upgrade in technology cause a downgrade in features? Only thing going for it is mp3 compatibilty but even then, in mp3 mode, it appears you can only mix tracks in one folder, not the whole cd? The only workaround I can think of is I guess you could take 6 CD's worth of mp3's and have your burner mix them in random order, but that's retarded. What's the point of a multiple cd changer if you can't jukebox it? Read more Less
