    Great for iPod users

    By DanielT  Apr 30, 2007

Pros: iPod connection, automatic iPod charging, song selection from the dash w/o having to touch the iPod at all

Cons: the menu can be complicated to use

My stock CD player got jammed and I decided to buy this Alpine player, which has been awesome.

Besides being able to play CDs (mp3 CDs as well), it's got convenient iPod connection features. It's also got a sleek look and detachable anti-theft plate.

Of course, being Alpine, the sound quality is superb, considering how my car's speaker system is mediocre. The sound actually improved when I installed this, and I made no changes to the car's speaker system whatsoever.

One great thing that isn't advertised enough about this product is that the iPod connection cable connects from the back of the unit into the glove compartment. That way, there is no hassle of wires and your iPod is stowed away safely. Doing so, you can just leave your iPod in the glove compartment when you exit your car, and no one will see it to steal it.

    Love it

Pros: Great Sound, Great Look, Great Extra's (IPod Connect)

Cons: Problem with selecting perticular songs through IPod Connect Menu.

I recently purchase this CD Player and I abosultly LOVE IT! It looks and sounds great as well as has a great menu setup. Everything is really simple when it comes to the basic audio menus suchs as controlling bass, treble, fade, and so-on.

I love that it is Mp3 compatible, I was able to consolidate all of those burnt cd's that I had cluttering up my car in to just a couple of Mp3 (Data) Cd's. Plus it recognizes all of the detailed info, such as Artist Name, Album, and Song Title.

The Ipod connect was the primary reason for this purchase. I was tired of using a transmitter. This direct hook-up to the BACK of the deck (The cable will run ya $30-40)will sync up with your Ipod, while charging it!, allowing you to play and control the Ipod through the Deck itself. The deck controls of the Ipod is kinda difficult at first, I suggest using the manual, but once you get it down it is very convenient. I love it, especailly when comparing it to a transmitter, for one it is less distractive trying to change songs and playist while driving and my favorite is that the Ipod will turn itself off in about two minutes after the deck is turned off, so you don't have to worry about turning off you Ipod when you get out of you car, which will keep you from ever getting stuck with a dead battery!
