    An Unknown Classic

    Pros: Beautiful work

    Cons: None!

This album is still today, out of both Christian and non-Christian albums, one of my all-time favorites. Beautiful, powerful, moving and honest. Too bad most people don't know about it. I rate an album by how much of it I can listen to without sk...ipping a song. This one ranks among the best on that alone---I can listen to the whole thing from start to finish and love every note. But beyond that, it's amazing these women didn't record together again. Their harmonies were beautiful, and each one has a distinctive voice to establish them apart when they take the lead. The lyrics were great, the hooks plentiful, and musicianship solid. Easily 5 stars! Read more Less

Definitely the best of the three ladies!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Nov 8, 2002

This album is incredible. I own albums by Ashton, Becker, and Dente, and they are truly great artists. This compilation, though, is in my opinion the very best of all three, put together in one package. I believe Scott Dente, if memory serves me r...ight, plays guitar for them too. :o) Do NOT miss out on songs like "Angels" and "Taking my Time" and... well, all of 'em, really. Read more Less

Pro Reviews: Along the Road

  • All Music Guide

This album is a collaborative effort of three of the top female vocalists in Christian music: Susan Ashton, Margaret Becker, and Christine Dente (of Out of the Grey). The three voices complement each other nicely with smooth harmonies. The songs have a slight country feel to them, with the easy-going vocals and prominent acoustic guitar work. The album has a great first half, starting off strong with "Angels," featuring Dente's vocals; "No Other," with lead vocals by Becker; and "Walk On," with take-no-prisoners vocals by Ashton. The second half of the album is a bit less engaging, but it is still pleasant. Along the Road is an unusual bringing together of great talent and one that leaves you wishing these women recorded together more often.
