    A decent album. The tones and feels of the songs are all very good. While the subjectmatter of the songs is interesting, at times Weller's vocals seem to make the lyrics sound less believable. While I found the album thoroughly enjoyable and reali...ze that it was somewhat influential, I do not see it as particularly groundbreaking, drawing largely from precedents set by The Who and The Kinks (who can resist the Kinks cover though?). "English Rose," while one of the stronger songs on the record, seems completely out of place in an album full of dense rockers like "Mr. Clean," a song I find to be relatively irritating. "Didn't We Have a Nice Time" or whatever its title proper should happen to be is quite a nice rock tune. This is a good yet not spectacular album for fans of punk, rock, mod, and brit-pop, amazingly the Jam span these territories without sounding unnatural or stiff. I recommend this album.     THE JAM - PAUL WELLER WHEN HE WAS A YOUNG LAD WITH AWESOME TALENT WITH SOME OF THE MOST POWERFUL SONGS YOU ARE MOST LIKELY TO EVER HEAR. I SUGGEST BUYING THIS ALBUM IF YOU LIKE TRUE GRIT LYRICS AND ROCKING GUITARS WITH STABLE DRUMS LOOK NO FURTHER. ...I CAN NOT BELEIVE NO ONE HAS REVIEWED THIS ALBUM....THIS ALBUM EASILY MATCHES THE AMAZING STANDARDS THAT U2 PUT IN THEIR NO.1 ALBUM JOSHUA TREE. I CHALLENGE ANYONE TO BUY THIS ALBUM AND BEG TO DIFFER.AND THATS WHAT I CALL ENTERTAINMENT. Read more Less
