I loved this movies

My Favorite Movie

Pros: Everything, especially Sigourney Weaver

Cons: Not a thing.

This is my favorite movie of all time. A serious action flick, but one that is believable because instead of some dumb man blowing away countless people with no real justificatin or motivation as to why we get a woman who is motivated to extreme acts... of bravery because of her mothering instinct. Ah, who cares for any intellectual bases for this movies's excellence; it just plain rocks. Read more Less

Widescreen, but not really...

Pros: Clear picture resolution, high quality sound

Cons: Uses 1.85 aspect ratio, not (superior) 2.35 ratio

One would think, with all the time, effort and expense involved in transferring this Sci-Fi masterpiece to DVD, James Cameron would have insisted on using the true-theater 2.35:1 widescreen aspect ratio, but instead, they used the outdated 1.85:1 asp...ect ratio which is only a minor improvement upon the cropped full-screen version. Important film, great DVD features

There was only bimbo actresses and drama queens untill this movie came out. The final fight scene between Ripley and the Queen should be in every "Women in film" class taught. It was by far the best catfight ever. The features really poin...ted out how James Cameron added so much to the series. I use to think he was a hack, but he has influenced even flims he wasn't directing. Examples included the 'mandibles' for "Predator" creature and being original director for Spiderman movie he basically recreated and rewrote Spiderman for film. As for best Aliens movie, they're all good. Yet this movie was the scariest as well as having one of the greatest fight scenes of all time. Read more Less

I thought this was an excellent movie. It kept me on my toes since the beginning. There was only a slight confusion since I never saw the original Alien but that soon didn't matter once the plot evolved. I loved the special effects and the action ...was incredible. When aliens take over a mining colony...Sigourney Weaver dons her Rambo gear to send them back where they belong. Great special effects and story. Sigourney performance as Ripley was the catalist for future popular heroines (Xena, Buffy the Vampire, ...etc..)Great for any DVD collection. Read more Less

dark'n satesfying sequal!

Aliens was just as good if not better than the original. It takes its place as one the best sequals ever made. The alarminglyfast pace and outstanding action is what makesthis one different from the first. Alienmoved at a much slower pace. "not in a ...badway", just slower.
