Alien vs Predator
Pros: interesting fight, special Effects
Cons: storyline
This film Alien vs Predator is good.....special effects are not enough to save this movie from it is combined cheesey scenes and poor acting...but my favorite movie of the year with great tech in the alien design..I love this film:)

Pros: Great effects, high-speed shots, edgy action scenes.
Cons: Weaker story.
Two of the most famous Sci-fi/horror icons by 20th Century Fox studios clash in this action flick. By the looks of it, the film may be better than the gory "Freddy vs. Jason" (which I haven't watched yet, but still...). The story though, is weaker compared to the superior film franchises of the two alien monsters. I suggest you start with them first before you go to this.

I waited for this movie since Predator was released in 1987.
Walking out of the theater, I remember saying "The Predator should hunt the Aliens, that would make a great movie."
And it did.
This movie tied all of the ALIENs and PREDATOR movies, all of the comics and graphic novels, and all of the books together perfectly.
The story stayed true to the legend and lore of both ALIENs and PREDATORs while expanding on them.
I can't wait for AVP 2 which is scheduled to release in 2007.
20th Century Fox wanted to make a bigger profit off of this movie, so they edited it down to a PG-13 rating, cutting out some of the blood and gore ALIEN and PREDATOR fans are used to seeing in those movies.
That aside, I recommend this movie to fans of those series, or any science fiction fans.Was this review helpful? Yes - NoAlien Vs. Predator

Well, never thought there would be AVP lol..I quite liked the movie and it told about the origins of both species b4 the previous Predator and Alien movies...Good special effects in this movie, did needed more killing in the movie. Overall it was a good movie.

I am both a big Alien and Predator fan and have waited for many years for AVP to make it to the big screen. Remember when the video game came out way back when, what was it for the Sega Genesis I think? Not to mention the comics that had been touting the cool crossover story idea for some time. I'm usually a fan of well done crossover work, Spider Man makes reference to Superman, maybe Batman shows up in a Superman flick, etc.
Anyway, I was the first person in line on opening night for this movie; I had high hopes for this to be a great flick. The story from the beginning is a little weak, although the backstory for the fighting that has been going on between Predators and Aliens was actually kinda cool. The title of the movie Alien vs. Predator leads you to believe there will be some serious battling between these two, however there is not. There are a few fights which were neat to watch, but it is mostly humans getting run down by the Aliens and Predators, until towards the end, there is a teaming up between a Predator and one of the humans to take out the Aliens. It was quite lame to say the least. I would have left the theater at this point, but I've never walked out of a movie, I just have to give them that benefit of the doubt that it might get better. Alas, this one did not.
The acting was terrible and there was even a very shamelessly stolen line from Quentin Tarantino's Resevior Dogs "A gun is like a condom, it's better to have one and not need it than to need it and not have it." The special effects were not bad, the Predator and the Alien looked good and most of the sets were not bad either. But in the end, a terrible script and bad acting killed what could have been a terrific movie. Just the same, it is an entertaining flick regardless and might be worth renting, but I wouldn't waste my money on buying the DVD. Like one other reviewer said, it's right inline with your run of the mill rock'em sock'em action flicks Hollywood is churning out these days. Not much depth, but entertaining for the masses. Pros: Loved the action between Aliens and Predators.
Cons: Loss of Sebastian
It was really interesting to know that humans worshipped the Preds in the past yet they hunted us in the modern versions of the Pred movies. As for the Aliens, they are just Aliens. Business as usual.

A waste of 20 dollars. I should have rented the movie instead of purchasing it. I was looking for the scare of the Alien movies and the Predator. What I got was small portions of action and very little plot.
They made the movie out to be more than it was. The characters were boring and the alien and predator were weak.

Pros: actually looked good visually
Cons: they took nothing seriously
First off since when did it take less than 10 minutes for an alien to grow out of someone and then become fully developed because it wasn't that way before. If you have seen some of the extra footage then you know not to much was added or had any significance except for one scene where the predator kills the guy for no reason. Predators only kill for the hunt or if attacked first and that scientist didn't do anything in the theatrical version but in the director's cut he actually pulled out a gun and shot at them.

Idiotic story, zero suspense, predictable. Complete waste of time. Even had my 12 year old, who loves anything sci-fi, saying, "Come on, this is stupid."
