THIS CD ROCKZ!!!!!!!!!!
Skillet is an outstanding band. They redefine Christian Rock and produce it into a hard rockin tune. At First Christian Rock sounded very soft, but with bands like DC Talk, P.O.D.,Pillar, Relient K, and especially Skillet, It turns the whole genre into a rockin world.
At first Skillet didnt seem interesting to me , then i Listened to some of their songs on radio, and i said i have to buy their CDs. Alien Youth is their best CD yet.
at first it sounds too hard rockin to be Christian, but when you hear the lyrics, its praising GOD. THe First song Alien Youth says there will be a day when we Christians led by Christ will take over this earth, as says Earth Invasion. I Love The WALLs of guitars and the songs, Eating Me AWAY , Stronger, and Rippin Me off. The Praise songs like You Are My Hope are touching. Its Impossible to take CDs like these out of My player

This is another AWESOME CD. Skillet is really great on this CD, and suceeded in their goals: becoming bolder in their message, and capturing their aggressive concert style. I cannot wait until Creation this year when they play their songs in concert, it will be so awesome. The only songs that I am not too pleased with are Come My Way, and Will You Be There; but that's just me.

At first I didn't like it compared to Invincible but it just gets better each time! My new fav praise song, The Thirst is Taking Over!

I have been a big skillet fan since the first cd came out. I really liked the first cd the best before they put the techno/electronic stuff in there, b/c I'm more of a guitar type of person, but they truly rock, with or without the tehno stuff. John Cooper can really rock it out, and his voice is really good. If you haven't heard this cd, please give it a shot. Jesus shines throught the whole album.

I never liked Skillets old cds HeyYou was ok but there cd Skillet was not all that good but there last two rock buy it.

this album is awesome! if you liked skillet's previous albums, this is a must! all the songs have a great beat and killer effects, not to mention, it is talking about jesus! i'm telling you, this is the greatest cd i have listened to in a really long time. it is worth your money, i promise!

This album is the best thing Skillet have ever done! and i do think they could go even better than this there is no doubt about that.
This album is a massive step forward for Christian Metal in fact this album is better than most other metal albums around at the momment
from frist track (Alien youth) you know it's going to be Very good
Eating me away, Kill me/Heal me & Stronger are killer tunes that i love and the explosed of gutair sound & energy witch is fast and heavy it's booldy magic.
they have some good worship tracks as well
You are my hope & Come my way. are the staind outs.
This album is a must buy for any one trying to find out about Gods true meaning and promise to all of mankind.

This CD has the best rythem, flow, and lyrics of any music I've heard. Buy this CD as soon as possible, you won't be dicipointed if you like rock.

Dude this is album is phat i totally dig every song on this cd but by far the best is earth invasion.cuz us aliens are takin over baby oh yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! get this album if you like orgy ? just imagine orgy harder.and you have alien youth.

What can I say - the fifth and newest Skillet album, Alien Youth, flat out ROCKS! This album has harder songs than some of their previous albums (Stronger, Rippin' Me Off), but it also has some pop-influenced rock songs (One Real Thing), and ballads (You Are My Hope, Come My Way).
Thirst Is Taking Over is a very powerful song! The lyrics are a cry from the heart for God to fill our deep-down thirst for Him. It has a cool beat that I wouldn't have thought of as being "Skillet" - but it really works! The band is expanding themselves to even higher levels musically! Will You Be There is a definite first for Skillet! The song is reminiscent of an 80's ballad straight off of a movie soundtrack. John Cooper (bass, lead vocals) and his wife, Korey Cooper (keys, vocals) share vocals in this song, which I might add blend very well together. The duet could be considered a love song, but is actually a song sung to God about His faithfulness.
Kill Me, Heal Me is one of the rockier songs on the album. It has all the loops, whistles, and industrial sounds of You're Powerful (from the band's Invincible album), while still showing the originality of Skillet. The song is about dying to our flesh daily and allowing God to come in and make us more like Him. Earth Invasion wasn't one of my favorite songs the first time I listened to the album, but now I love it! The song has really cool lyrics about the kingdom of God infiltrating the planet, and it really keeps the Alien Youth theme. "Join us in the army that's arising, let the truth invade your mind, everyday the kingdom is advancing, the Earth invasion has just begun."
Alien Youth is an all-around great album! Skillet has shown their growth musically, and lyrically. The band has proved over the years that they are a staple rock group in Christian music, and with Alien Youth, they are still standing strong!Was this review helpful? Yes - No
