Alien (1979)
Pros: Atmospheric, dark film.
Cons: None to think of.
I first saw Alien at the cinema in 1980, and it has always been a firm favourite. As time goes on, it gets harder to find the single disc edition amongst all the double discs, quardrilogies, AVPs etc. But Alien on its own does not need sequels.

Okay, so it is safe to say that when cable television first came out- there was SelectTV. This was the first movie that aired that I wasn't allowed to view- well, needless to say, I eventually did and was hooked on the realm of dimension ever since. Ridley Scott mastered the craft to perfection and the artwork cannot be ignored; H.R. Giger's biomechanical creature has influenced modern film. Intense and worth more than three viewings.

I love this movie I see it as the 1st half of the best combo cinema has ever created. This is the suspensful horror half, and Aliens is the action/horror half. In both films Sigourney Weaver is awesome, to say the very least.

Alien seamed as though it was made to include
everybody's child hood fears. A creature

The original space horror flick. Among the entire Alien saga, you only need this film and Aliens. Don't bother with Alien 3 or Alien: Resurrection.

Frighteningly intense film. If suspense flips you out then this one will about give you cardiac arrest. Holds up over time, a true classic of the genre and totally boldly original, it set the standard that has rarely been passed since by its' imitators.

superbly directed suspenseful and very well acted. many surprises, and open door for sequels, especially the derelict spaceship, which were not followed up. Instead sequels took other directions

Ridley Scott manages to create one of the greatist films ever made. The alien is really well gone for it's genre, considering this movie was made in 1979. Weaver makes her character really believable, along with exceptional co-stars.
The movie is really a dark film, and is really spooky and will scare the hell out of you, guaranteed.

This one is the "Granddaddy" of the genre. This is the one that when watched in a dark room with surround sound, will make you pee your pants! Only one question besides "In space, no one can hear you scream" is, How does it feel be one step lower on the food chain?!
