good movie
Pros: acting great, interesting plot
Cons: not historicly true
Movie is very interesting and for someone who doesn't know history great. Actors did their job outstanding, but I was very disapionted with historical view. Well it's no wonder that there are so many mistakes when history wasn't studied enough. It is not right to show one of the greatest heroes of antique in that way. In my opinion this movie is worth seeing, but before that try to learn more about Alexander, and in that way you can understand him as a character and to see why they tried to make him look gay (I don't want to insole anyone). It was just another form of love in that period.

This is a great film, with Oscar worthy and incredible acting by Colin Farrell. A great mixture of love and war. Although there should have been more to the love story. Hurray to love themes. I appreciate this film for its historical accuracy and some very deep emotional scenes that are quite stirring. The ratings are getting better. Americans do not appreciate epic heroes, they love villains. American history has not produced epic heroes but wild villains, hence the low ratings in America. As more people watch this film, its worth will grow .It is a film for all times. Much better than Troy and Gladiator in terms of Story line.

This movie had a great thrilling sense to it. There was always a suspenceful part in the movie! Never was there a part that didn't have a very passionite scene or a battle part to it.

I was quite disappointed with Oliver Stone's interpretation of this historical figure. I would have thought that the director of such brilliant films like JFK and Natural Born Killers would have known better then to just throw in flashbacks as a plot device. It broke up the fluidity of the movie.
As for the homosexual overtones, they have been incredibly overexaggerated by reviewers and critics alike (just watch an episode of Queer As Folk to see what I mean). The rating is perfectly legitamite in this case. However, the approach of the relationship between Alexander and his male 'lover' is so coy as to be annoying. And as with the other characters who had a name (if they were lucky) but little to no known backstory the lover (Hephastion?) was delegated to background dressing in most of the movie, completely wasting Jared Leto's talent.

This movie had good potential if someone else had directed it! It simply focused way too much on his sexual lifestyle, it was almost like watching a daytime soap opera, i was very dissapointed,...no i was pissed off watching this mess of a film. Anyone giving this movie any good reviews is either a part of this lifestyle or a woman.

horrible.... worst crap i ever tried to whatch, it wasent bad enough that i had to leave 1/2 through it at the theator and try to salvage what was left of a saturday night. i had to sit through it at a friends house recently. the movie is a pile of crap colin ferrel plays a homosexual greek. which was a good role for him since in real life he is already a homo. dont rent or whatch this. sorry angelina i love you.

Dont waste your money. Dont even rent it as you will be disappointed. I watched this hoping that it would at least be informative but it was a gay fest with unbelievable battles.
