    Big mouth, tiny head.

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Mar 20, 2001

Songs are nice sing-alongs but the moment she lets her eyes and mouth out things start reaching breaking points. However good production does miracles. And Alanis is only irritating herself.

    fantastic!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Feb 13, 2001

This acoustic album is a masterpiece. Alanis' voice had such depth and power, particularly in "uninvited" and "That I Would Be Good". My favourite song of the album is "No Pressure Over Cappuccino", and I love the "King Of Pain" cover.

With all these second rate bands around these days who are more concerned with looks and miming, it's refreshing to hear the work of an artist with genuine talent. Cant wait for her third album release in 2001!

    Re: Simply Her Best Work

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Feb 7, 2001

Being that I am a big Police fan, having heard "King of Pain" many times in the voice of Sting, I was shocked to hear Alanis provide her version. I was at first skeptical but as I listed, I was amazed. Her talent clearly showed and her version is tremendous. I listen to it often and enjoy almost as much as the Police version. She's now Sting's counterpart QUEEN OF PAIN!

The GREATEST CD in the world...Alanis!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Dec 11, 2000

You thought you've heard nothing like this before, but Alanis has such talent. Whatever songs she does, however she does them, nothing could disappoint me about it. Her lyrics are so angst-driven because she has the courage to write about it instead of hiding behind it (I admit I'm one of them). But every time I listen to this CD, it's just so fresh! Alanis deserves so much praise and so much more, she can do anything!!

    Her best one yet!!!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Sep 17, 2000

I absolutely love this cd! She is an amazing artist, and I wish I could go see her in concert. Her live album is wonderful. The new songs she has on the cd, make it interesting, and plus she brought back some great hits from the "Pill" album. This is a great cd.

    RAW TALENT

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Aug 27, 2000

Simply put, the girl's got TALENT! None of that "I look cute and don't eat so I can be a star" crap - Alanis is the real deal. No cheesy choreography, no voice editing. Just good music - on a Live album. Let's see Britney pull that off!

    Simply Her Best Work

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jul 12, 2000

There are only 2 songs on this album that are not really Alanis Morissette material (These R The Thoughts and King Of Pain). Even with these two setbacks, this live album is more than worthy of it's 5 stars. This album is one of those classic albums that is released with almost no promotion but will be hard to find in a couple of years. A DEFINITE MUST have!!!

    ALANIS MORISSETTE

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jun 5, 2000

    This is a great album.
The pleasure from the sound of her voice is tantamount to her other albums. The song "Ironic" exudes a real feeling for the emotions that come with the little twists of fate in life.

    Good job Alanis...

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Mar 31, 2000 | 1 out of 1 found this Alanis Unplugged review helpful

Hey, this cd kicks booty up and down the hall. When you listen to the cd you think of her singing in a smalltown coffee shop rather than where they recorded it.(i don't know the location) When you first listen to it, you are blown away. I laughed to myself thinking about all the boy bands and such out right now and how they would never have the special touch that this cd has. The only thing I don't like is Ironic's chorus isn't the same but I got used to it and kinda like it now. No pressure over capachino (spelling?) will give you goosebumps... A real winner

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jan 11, 2000

the first time i saw this album, i told myself that i gotta have it no matter what it takes. i really liked this album a lot since she sang four new songs that were not in her previous albums. i liked the songs 'that i would be good', 'these r the thoughts', 'king of pain', and 'no pressure over cappuccino'. if you're a diehard alanis fan....you better have this one or you'll regret it.

    Live Alanis is amazing...

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jan 7, 2000

I've seen Alanis live twice. They were the two best concerts I've ever been to, and I've been to over 30 concerts including those of the best. So, I knew this live CD would be great. When I first saw her song choices, I was a bit disappointed there was no "Forgiven," "UR," "So Pure," or "Hand In My Pocket." And I was a bit disappointed that there was "Ironic" and "That I Would be Good." BUT, this version of "Ironic" follows the pattern of the whole album...of being amazing. And three of the four bonus songs, "No Pressure Over Cappacino" (which is about Alanis's twin Wade), "King (Queen) of Pain" (what a remake!), and esp. "Princes Familiar" are just WONDERFUL! GO ALANIS! I also think she did a great job on "You Learn," "I Was Hoping," and "Uninvited."

    Alanis at her best

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Dec 16, 1999

A session on the hallowed airtime of MTV Unplugged is a mark of true distinction for an artist. It is a preserve for those artists who have significantly impacted the lives of millions of people with their musical poetry. And thus, with the release of this album and subsequent show, Alanis joins the illustrious list alongside the likes of Nirvana and the Counting Crows. This is an album of true beauty and a real presentation of Alanis’ unparalleled talents as singer and songwriter. It’s a mixture of tracks from ‘Jagged Little Pill’ and ‘Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie’ that she offers us, along with live favourite ‘No pressure over cappuccino’, two new tracks, ‘Princes Familiar’ and These are the thoughts’ and also a cover of the Sting classic ‘King of Pain’. The blend of old and new and of the variety of instruments with guitar, piano and a select orchestra makes for an intricately crafted lullaby of an album. ‘You oughta know’ is positively vibrant in its shimmering innocence and so is ‘Ironic’, which loses that harsh edge from the chorus and focuses more on the melody. The attraction of these unplugged sessions is their intimacy – here you can get an honest feel for what motivates Alanis and the pain and intensity behind her lyrics. It’s honesty in its purest form. For this very reason it totally outstrips nearly every studio album this year in terms of overall quality.
