STAY AWAY
IT'S TERRIBLE. TASTELESS POO POO FROM THE BOWELS OF THE OVERFLOWING TOILET. ELTON JOHN'S RECORDS, STEREO CASSETTE TAPES AND COMPACT DISCS ARE PISS AND PUKE MIXED TOGETHER. YUCK.

I do not know if Elton was really involved in this album.... It seems gone out from the mind of a turkey joker wishing to sell iron for gold.
Elton's old fan, in my opinion, will not appreciate it so much....
Here You will not find the poetry of "Come down in time", "The greatest discovery", the eclectism of Blue Moves...
You will find only a good old star composing songs for other artists whose "appeal" is not always strong.
How I would like to listen to Elton John leaving his golden world of managers, producer and playing and experimenting like in his first 5 albums......Was this review helpful? Yes - NoIt Was Wonderful!
This Album was so great. I absolutely loved it. I don't think it could have been any better. Don't get me wrong the original cast album is good also but this was is GREAT!! Tim Rice and Elton John did a fabulous job on this album! (Heather Headley is a Wonderful singer she was awesome on the album and in the play!) We want more albums like this!

My wife bought the Broadway cast version by mistake. This "all-star" version is superior by far. So much more passion and individual flair in this recording and the arrangements and musicianship are also so much better.

There's good news and bad news. First the bad news: This album is not the AIDA album you want to have. These songs are not meant to have the same flavor brought to them by the actual cast of the Broadway performance. Some of these songs aren't even on the cast album. You've probably figured out the good news by now: Get the Original Broadway cast album! See my review under that section.

I went and saw the play with a group from my school when it was in my town. I thought it was really good but this soundtrack isn't as good as the play was. It was awesome!

I bought this album and I was not disappointed. This album has it all. A really great song that I listen to a lot is "I Know The Truth". Elton and Janet's voices blend very nicely on it. Shania Twain also appears singing "Amneris' Letter" which is short and sweet. "A Step Too Far" is also incredible, with Elton and Heather Headley and Sherie Scott. "Elaborate Lives" is an incredible song performed by Heather Headley. And lastly, "The Messenger" performed by Elton and Lulu is one of the album's high points bringing together two incredible voices and a brilliant melody.
