    Pros: You get alot of computer for a very good price.

    Cons: Battery doesn`t hold out very long before needing a charge. Especially when going wireless, it only lasts about 45 min.

    Nice computer w/ lots of features at an excellent price. It doesnt come with a lot of software but for me that`s a good thing. I don`t like my computer cluttered with software I don`t like or won`t use. I did buy an extra memory module when I first g...ot it, which helped a great deal. Acer definetely needs to upgrade the battery however. It would have gotten 5 stars from me except for that. Read more Less

    Pros: Good features for the money

    Cons: Bad tech support

    I bought one of these overseas 2 years ago. I liked it at first, but Windows XP's speed suffered with the factory 256mb of RAM. I installed another 256mb myself and upgraded it to 512mb. This seemed to double the speed which was acceptable.... After 6 months, the CPU fan started making a high pitched whining noise. I went back to the shop, and they said that it would have to go back to the factory for repair. I was moving soon, so I didn't have time to do that. After a year, the warranty ran out. I tried to order a CPU fan to replace it myself. After all, I'm a trained technician and CompTIA A certified. Acer would not sell any parts. Their policy is to send it back to the factory at a minimum $450 charge. Aye Carumba! Other former Acer laptop owners say that they're good for the first year, then they die. I must be lucky, because mine lasted 2 years so far. I'll just have to deal with the annoying high pitched whine coming from the CPU fan, which is also amplified by the internal speakers. Once the CPU fan goes out, this computer is toast. I probably won't buy another Acer laptop. Read more Less
