    this album of the four released in 1978 is the best. paul is next, then gene, and if you must own peter's for collection purposes then leave the plastic on and wipe off the dust occasionally!!!

    Man, say what you want about Ace's voice, guitar skills, whatever...this man has inspired so many young guitarists to pick up the guitar in the first place, so if you don't like this rock n' roll gem, that's OK, I think it kicks ass.

    I always had a strange place in my heart for the solo albums. As a kid I loved them all but now I look back and wonder how great a Kiss album say Best of the solos would have been. Out of all four Ace's is probably the only one I can listen to start... to finish today. New York Groove is one hell of a song especially if you ever heard the Hello do it. Read more Less

    how anyone could not LOVE this album is out of thier mind! ace is a genious, and he proves it with this solo album. it was the most successful of all the kiss solos. the man who launched a thousand licks is one of the best guitarists in our time.

    Bottom line : this album brings it. If I weren't a die-hard, major KISS fan, I would still own this record. This is a balls-out, straight-up rock record like they don't make anymore. Unfortunately, the solo records were probably the catalyst for the... band's original breakup, but for at least one moment in time, Ace showed that he's more than just a painted face...     Man this album is really good... of the 4 KISS solos of 1978 this one is the best. From New York Groove, to Rip It Out...they all are good... the singing may not be top notch, but the songs are excellent. I gave it a 5 cause the other guy only gave ...it a 1. Try it for yourself.
