Ill keep this simple this is a great gaem and continuation of the AC series..You play and members of sand island squadren that becomes known ragriz sq before long. The story is good and after a few battles you will begain to feel a closeness to you fictional wingmen that in later stages help amp the sense of urgency during missions. the only downfall to the game is that there is never enough money to buy planes and when you unlock a truly great plan the level that it could have been used on to help you breeze through a mission is gone..i recommend that you play the game on hard to help with the war feeling the cut scenes are wonderful and help the story and not hinder your progress..but one thing you need to learn is how to properly use the wingmen cause most kills will be yours but they can help eliminate the hard one on your six that wont let you go.

Cons: The pre-mission menus could be improved, no online

This game was excellent. The best flying game by far that I have ever played. With a gripping storyline and great missions this game really delivers. There is also a whole array of real-life military aircraft like the F-18 Hornet and even the new Raptor! Together with good controls flying becomes a breeze. I highly recommend this game if you like good storylines and great gameplay.

What's funner than blowing you enemies out of the sky in a hail of gunfire and missiles? Doing it with wingmen at you side. This semi-realistic flight simulator is easily the best console flight sim available, period--and the only thing that even comes close is Ace Combat 4. The game's dialogue, music, and sound effects really make the game come alive. The graphics are equally impressive--especially the models of the diverse number of aircraft and variants--you can even see the cloudy cone produced by the aircraft as they pass the sound barrier. The controls are easy to learn and apply--though I'd recommend not using Easy mode controls as they are a hassle, even for rookie sim pilots. Giving commands to your wingmen is a simple task that involves using the d-pad.
The only problem with this otherwise excellent game is that their is no multiplayer option-split screen or otherwise-and in third day and age where nearly every gamer has internet access, multiplayer gaming is becoming an important aspect that the developers in the Ace Combat Project should recognize. Overall, I give this game extremely high marks, simply because all the positives of this game outweigh the negatives.

Taking the worst of ace combat 4 and making more of it....
So in each and every mission you are required to blow up or kill like 20 or 40 or 50 enemies.... Now with the realistic graphics and slightly more realistic (than Ace Combat4) flight of the planes... they turned it into a real button pushing kind of experience.... You actually have to use almost all 99 short range missles and all your special weapons in every mission.

Secondly..... the story ... oh my the story.... even worse in that Japanese interpretation of American culture that was intolerable in AC 4.

Overall If you want a mindless button pushing experience.. (ok evenmore mindless than most video games)... here it is.
