The band was always good to me, so they're cool in my book. For those of you genuinely interested in listening to the band, and not berating them, also look for Sleeper - another great disc.

| EXPERT RATING: From AMG Reviews What Siouxsie and the Banshees were to the English punk-rock scene, Tribe was to the Boston alternative scene of the early '90s. Gil Norton's production definitely brings out the gothic sound in Janet LaValley's vocals, yet the pop sensibility behind these songs won't be hidden. In fact, Terri Barous' keyboards do the most to distinguish Tribe from the rest of the Boston scene --they surround songs with a gauzy, atmospheric sheen, in contrast to the raw directness of the other Boston bands at the time like the Pixies and the Zulus. This album mostly consists of re-recordings from Tribe's first self-released album, with four new songs added.
