    Pros: Some classic Beatles songs

Cons: Some songs are just ok...

Well after reading all the reviews and having already listened to a few of these songs on radio and what not, I finally went over to buy the CD. And I think its not that bad. I haven't bought all the Beatles CDs, but i'm sure they are all dam...n good. But I still think that SGT. PEPPERS is their best, and my favorite album. Read more Less

Abbey road, which is actually the last album recorded by the beatles "not let it be" is a spectacular finish. in and out of itself, Abbey Road is possibly one of the best albums of all time

Pro Reviews: Abbey Road

  • All Music Guide

The last Beatles album to be recorded (although Let It Be was the last to be released), Abbey Road was a fitting swan song for the group, echoing some of the fauxconceptual forms of Sgt. Pepper, but featuring stronger compositions and more rockoriented ensemble work. The group was still pushing forward in all facets of its art, whether devising some of the greatest harmonies to be heard on any rock record (especially on "Because"), constructing a medley of songs/vignettes that covered much of side two, adding subtle touches of Moog synthesizer, or crafting furious guitarheavy rock ("The End," "I Want You (She's So Heavy)," "Come Together"). George Harrison also blossomed into a major songwriter, contributing the buoyant "Here Comes the Sun" and the supremely melodic ballad "Something," the latter of which became the first Harrisonpenned Beatles hit. Whether Abbey Road is the Beatles' best work is debatable, but it's certainly the most immaculately produced (with the possible exception ...of Sgt. Pepper) and most tightly constructed. - Richie Unterberger, All Music Guide Read more Less

Biography

The Beatles

So much has been said and written about the Beatles -- and their story is so mythic in its sweep -- that it's difficult to summarize their career without restating clichés that have already been digested by tens of millions of rock fans. To start with the obvious, they were the greatest and most influential act of the rock era, and introduced more innovations into popu... Read more
