Pros: Awesome preformance for the money, DX9 Compatible

Cons: Some take the 9500 Pro over this card (same price)

What can I say people, I got this card and believe me I am not dissapointed. It runs all the latest games with "quality" settings enabled prefectly smooth. Quake III, Unreal 2003 and Unreal II, AquaNox2, you name it, a fantastic card for th...e money. (Settings were: 4AA-16AF-Highest Quality)Some people choose the 9500 pro because it has 8 rendering pipes where as the 9600 pro has 4, allthough it compensates with higher clock speeds for that, and it's an amazing overclocker too!If I had to do it all over again I definitely would, this is one card that can hold it's own and has the power to match it's looks.cheersectolink Read more Less

Pros: Quick and flashy, this card has it all, smooth texturing and rendering for all types of 3D gaming and 3D art software. One of the best cards out there.

Cons: Some MMO (Massively Multiplayer Online) games don't really play well with the ATI card, NVidia has the big lead in the industry, and thus with ATI you seem to have to run below the top of the line drivers in order to run these MMO's. Other console based games however, kick it out, smoothly

My 9600 Pro card is probably my best choice ever in a video card, I've had it now for nearly 2 years and love it. The only downside to all of it is the fact that most MMO's don't care for ATI it would seem, or atleast they don't u...pgrade their technology within their game to allow for the most recent of ATI drivers. So, you're always playing 1 or 2 drivers below top of the line rather than the best. And with ATI, it's all about quality, so, you lose some of that quality when you can't run the best of the best. I would still recommend this card to anyone, and ATI Card for that matter, as it has the best over all resolutions and graphics rendering out there. NVidia could learn something from ATI on this. ATI Radeon 9600 Pro Mac & PC Edition: One Card for All

As a card, the Radeon 9600 Pro Mac & PC Edition is an excellent offering. If possible to do without significantly driving costs up, we'd like to see Mac & PC compatible offerings of all of ATI's GPUs, ideally even doing away with discrete Mac and PC products and replacing them with a line of cards that just work regardless of platform. What ATI has done with the Radeon 9600 Pro Mac & PC Edition is bring forth a 256MB card that offers a silent solution for those users wanting to move to a 30"" Cinema Display. The actual OS X UI performance of the card is just as good as ATI's top-of-the-line X800 XT. So, unless you are playing any games or running any applications that make extensive use of pixel shaders, the Radeon 9600 Pro Mac & PC Edition is a very functional card to pair with a 30"" display. The biggest draw in our opinion is the card's passive cooling; combine that with its 256MB frame buffer and you have a pretty decent solution for OS X users. Unfortunately, once you fire up a...
