A siren song
Pros: Many Features
Cons: They do not work reliably. Dismal support
The ATT 8925 smart phone replaces the ATT 8525. Both devices are loaded with both features and bugs. These phones are very easy to fall in love with.
The 8525 is very buggy and the 8925 is only marginally better. All features can misbehave or hang intermittently. I support four of these devices and all have been replaced at least once. Two were replaced three times each.
Since they have more bugs than you can count, at some point you will need to talk to ATT support. ATT has a telephone hamster wheel where they make you spin for hours and in one case for two weeks. ATT support is a huge bucket of ice water on your love affair with this phone. The support staff is clueless to the point of not knowing difference between active sync and modem tethering.
Despite the many deficiencies, users love them when they work. Eventually, this thing let's you down when you need it most. For me, I rue the day I saw that phone. ATT has consumed too much of my life and I hate that sucker.

Pros: Windows Mobile with Features
Cons: Everything Else
I am a power user who needs the internet and e-mail. This is the worst phone I have ever had in my life. AT&T had to replace it four different times because it died a quick death, mostly because of power related issues. Windows Mobile 5 is an abominable drain on the battery, and forget ever trying to charge this off a USB port (you would claim Social Security first). The slider is cool, and the keyboard nice, but the touch screen is clunky for multitasking (too many keystrokes to get things done). And, it's not a 1-handed phone. I have since upgraded to a Blackjack II per AT&T's recommendation and am ecstatic. Other friends of mine with the 8525 have had a similar experience, so Caveat Emptor!
