Turkish-Irish descent Richard Abidin Breen aka Abs used to sing and dance Michael Jackson's hits before he started DJing. His passion for dance-pop music led him to join the British boy-band 5ive disbanded in September, 2001. Soon after executive producer Simon Cowell signed him up as a solo artist. In August, 2002 Abs debuted with the release of the UK Top 10 single "What You Got," featuring samples from Andrea and Donna's 1970s reggae hit "Uptown Top Ranking,".
