Texas-based Latin pop group Kumbia Kings hit the ground running in 1999 when their debut album, Amor, Familia Y Respeto, was released, selling over 500,000 copies and earning them a Grammy nomination. The recording, which was produced by A.B. Quintanilla, who had also produced his sister Selena's music before her untimely death, was a Spanish-language mix of Cumbia, pop, rap, and RB.
