soundgarden is one of the best bands in the world,that just about says it all for you peopel out there about to buy this cd

Well, I haven't heard any songs from them except from the albums from Badmotorfinger, Superunknown, and Down On the Upside. All their greatest songs are on here and they rock. My favs are "Blow Up the Outside World", "Burden In My Hand", "Pretty Noose", oh hell all of them are sweet. I don't remember "Ty Cobb" being a hit but oh well.

What a shame! Who was that half-assed
What about "Gun", "Let Me Drown", "Slaves & Bulldozers", "Head Down", "Limo Wreck", "4th of July", "No Attention", "Little Joe" or "Overfloater".

This is obviously not SoundGarden's
"best of "and perhaps it wasn't suppose to be. Each of their albums produces plenty of hits that if they ever had a
"best of" album it would probably contain 20 to 30 songs. None the less
A side does show the amazing ability of SoundGarden to produce top quality metal/punk music with sharp edges and "in your face" attitude. People who would like to know more about SoundGarden should check this one out if they don't mind missing out more elaborate and critically acclaimed ones like 'SuperUnknown' and 'BadMotorFinger'Was this review helpful? God is it good. All the best of Soundgarden because obviously that's what it is. But I think it is their best Cd they made. Crams in al the goodies in one CD. "Spoonman", "Rusty Cage",Black Hole Sun, Outshined, Ty Cobb, etc, it's just to good.

For any band even nearly as good as the almighty Soundgarden to release a kinda 'best of' CD makes the little people like me very happy.

It would be okay to call these songs the most 'popular', but 'Ty Cobb' is far from their best. What the hell is that song doing here in the first place? I'm also scratching my head about 'Rusty Cage' and 'Flower'. Other than that, Soundgarden reminds us how amazing they really are. From their Indie days to their breathtaking Down On The Upside, this CD covers all the bases. I didn't think both 'Blow Up The Outside World' AND 'The Day I Tried To Live' both needed to be here. I'd like to see 'Zero Chance' instead. This is more for those slightly interested in the band than true fans.

The liner notes say that you can't fit the "best" of Soundgarden in one album. But, "A-Sides" does a pretty darn good job of it. The addition of the previously unreleased "Bleed Together" is a bug plus. If you like the Soundgarden you hear on the radio, and your collection of Soundgarden is non-existent, then find this album and give it a try.
