Pro Reviews: A's, B's & EP's

  • All Music Guide

This Shadows import set on EMI is part of the A's B's EP's series that collects U.K. singles and EPs from the label's catalog. Many of the Shadows' chart-toppers -- including "Man of Mystery," "Kon-Tiki," and "Wonderful Land" -- are present, but not the biggest hit of their career, "Apache." Another interesting aspect of this collection is that the 24 songs are presented in mono only. Whether that is a good thing or not depends on personal taste. There are better Shadows compilations easily available.
