...this movie did not catch my interest at all. i just didn't care about any of the characters. i think the director paid too much attention to the filming and not enough towards the meaning of the play. i love shakespeare and i love to see it put t...o film...but ugh. don't see this movie and please, by all that is holy, don't see Ethan Hawke's Hamlet. rent Leonardo's Romeo and Juliet, Titus, and i hear Richard III with Ian Mckellan rocks. This movie proves once again that sheer star power doesn't create a good movie. Being a Shakespeare fan and having read this play, this movie leaves out some key elements from the play. Does anyone really know why Titania and Oberon are mad at ...each other? The movie so conveniently leaves this out making the veiwer just guess and make something up. I would not recommend this movie for a Shakespeare fan. For those of you who care about how Christian Bale looks like or are fans of the actors then watch the movie. But for people who respect good Shakespeare, or for that matter a good movie, don't see this one! Read more Less

Im not really a shakespear fan but this play just caught my attention and really touched my heart. The actors where so amazing and played thier parts like they really where those people . they make me want to visit Athens

Excellent! Shakespeare has never been this much fun! Steller cast and performance level. My personal favorite was Stanley Tucci (Puck) He has attained a new personal best. The moviemakers tie up alot of loose ends in the play by adding new elements ...to the ending but stay true to the original feel and witty charm of Shakespeare. An excellent marriage of risk with loyalty to the play. Dont rent it... just buy it. It will be worth your while. Read more Less

I loved Christian Bale...he played an awsome part and did it perfect. The movie kept me smiling the whole time. I costumes were excellent!!
