"A Rush Of Blood..." is as the title states a rush of some really cool drifting soulful mellow and effective tunes that will flow straight to the head.
In My Place by itself sends shivers and a sweet sense of joy every time you'll hear it and sing along to those beautiful verses and chorus.
What seems exciting to me about A Rush Of Blood To The Head is that even though it is a follow up to a successful debut album, it sounds as though it is the debut album. The band have not relyed on any new sounds or any heavier or more expensive equipment while recording this album (it's obvious from comparisons between this one and the first). Coldplay can indeed record each album with the same melodies that they recorded before and it will still sound amazing. Not that the songs on A Rush... sound like the ones on Parachutes but it sounds as if they were all written and performed during the same time when Coldplay were possibly unknowns and trying to make a break. Well, a break they did make and this album is a delight to the ears.
And as the opening song Politik says "open your eyes..." Maybe it is time to open your eyes to a new Brit rock invasion of Coldplay, maybe they intended it to be more than a lyric. A statement.

Nothing 2 say...a great album!!!
Pros: Amazing music!
Cons: none.......
This music has an eighties touch with the 2000 and plus alternative/rock mixed into it. If your from the 80's and you liked U2 you will love this band. Coldplay takes their music to all new levels in this album. Parachutes, Rush of blood to the head, and x&y are all amazing cds. X&Y takes a little getting used to, but you will love it.
Pros: Continuation of their great style
Cons: Some songs get boring
This is a great album. It has great songs with great lyrics and great sounds. I love this album but Parachutes is better. I made a disc of my favourite Coldplay songs and this had 3 out of the 13 songs on it. I love The Scientist, God put a Smile on my Face and A Rush of Blood to the Head but Clocks does get a bit boring.
Pros: none
Cons: The most beautiful album ever writen
a rush of blood to the head is the most beauitful album I have ever heard and I must say I have listend to a lot of diffrent music somthing about Cold play touches my soul when I listen to the songs of this album I can feel the pain of this mans heart threw his music and I must say thats talent thats beauitful its self I give A rush of blood to the heead A 10 out of 10
Pros: Lyrics, Composition, Perfection
Cons: None
By Far one of the best rock albums of our time. Some of the most meaningfull and apparent lyrics to our time. With the vocals and lyrics of Chris Martin there was no hope of failure with this album. With a time of where relationships and love are not at the forefront martin reminds us on the Scientist that things are not appreciated until they are again and there is no starting over. Green Eyes and Warning sign are another two incredible tracks that while far exceed your listening pleasure. If you are looking for a album that is sincere and honest and can play from start to finish this is a recomended purchase i assure you there will be no disapointment. Enjoy. Also if you get a chance purchase the live DVD Mindblowing!!!
I'm going to start out with a blanket statement and say that Coldplay has proven itself to be the best band to come about in the past couple of years, and "A Rush of Blood to the Head" stands as one of the big proofs for that. The lyrics for such songs as "The Scientist," and the title track express a melancoly hapiness, which seems odd when it's said, but is somehow pulled off, and extremely well at that. This album seems like it was put together with the utmost care, with the actual music so beautifully played that it just sucks you right into it. For those that liked their last albumn, "Parachutes," "A Rush of Blood to the Head" takes the band to a whole new level.
This album rules!!!!!
this c.d is great, go out and get it!
almost every song is the same, dont waste your money
It is just one of those Cds that will never leave your cd player.
These songs hit me right where I need it. They are even better than their previous albums. This album is great to chill out to, or listen to on the go. I recommend it to anyone.
i love to listen to this cd when i'm really blazed
This album definitely does justice to Coldplay. The album has more angst and mellancholy and a touch more consistent than their Parachutes. No doubt Chris Martin and gang has been listening to a lot of Radiohead but the sheer intensity of the album will capture immediately or eventually.
Lyrically Coldplay is weak. There's no imagery, or strength in their words to back up their lovely music. They say no more than "I'm sorry" in their songs and it gets boring after a while. But I hear a lot of influences in this album from Radiohead and Travis to Jeff Buckley. Hopefully their next endeavor will have more to say now that the four are older and more experienced than the wide-eyed and eager boys that recorded Parachutes.
I just baught the Coldplay CD and I am completly in love with it. It's great for anytime of day or night. The sound and lyrics are so smooth!
This is one of my favorite CDs! Go out and buy this album!
