With the cast of actors headed by Sidney Poitier how could you not find something to like.
The sets, scenery, and costumes made this series. I thought the ensemble cast worked very well together. Joanne Going and Billy Wirth were magical with the characters of Corby/Whitewolf & Rachel.... their story will break every woman's heart.
The storyline of Blacks settling in the West and setting up a town, the inter-racial romance of Corby and Rachel, land rushes, greed and power, all go hand and hand in this story.
From the beginning the viewer knows there is only going to be heartbreak for most of the characters but I found them all so interesting that it held my attention.
I would recommend this film but would also suggest viewers look for the two tape version of this series " Children of The Dust".
Sidney Poitier shows he is still a class act and a great actor, he gets better with age, and his scenes with Regina Taylor are moving and heartbreaking. ...
