Pros: A moving story
Cons: Extraordinary
Why don't the ladies behave like this in the real life? It such a clear demonstration for the statement: "I don't need the answer: I love you if... I love you because... Just give me a simple word: I love you although..."
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Nothing
After watching this movie, I concluded that in future, hollywood will produce or reproduce the best litrature of the world. Hollywood is no more entertainment only, its art and litrature also.
A great film that deserved all the Oscars
it won and a few that it missed (best actor, orginal score). Check out the bonus DVD for wonderful missing scenes and priceless film of the real John Nash.
A egoistic man trying to understand life while living with a disablity. This movie pretends to be deep, but only goes so far as to label a man schizophrenic. When will Holywood stop 'pretending' about black rights, woman rights, jews and mentally challenged people and make an original movie showing true human nature.
If you get into movies that honor or tribute a persons achievments and battles through life this is a great movie.
best movie of 2001 in my opinion.
The Academy's top pick for the year 2001, A Beautiful Mind was quite simply a beautiful picture, one in a long line of top-notch efforts by director Ron Howard of Happy Days fame. With the crack Aussie Russell Crowe playing John Forbes Nash, a genius with a drawl, not to mention assorted other problems, mostly of the mental variety, the movie follows the character from college to old age. The brilliant direction of Howard keeps us glued to the story.
This film was directed beautifully. It left the viewer questioning the psychiactric community's view of the lead role. I felt the story line was well presented.
A Beautiful Mind is one of the greatest movies.
All the actors were GrEaT!!! I thought Russell Crowe deserved to get the Oscar.
i understand that when the judges pick movie for academy. they can't pick movies that are science fiction or fantasy. because it dosen't relate to our everyday life in anyway. so they can't pick movies that most people liked best. the thing i don't like is that it's confusing. but it deserved best picture. but i still enjoy watch lord of the rings much better. russel crowne should've got that best actor award.
An uneven tear-jerker about schizophrenia. A bit heavy-handed at times (especially regarding the role of the psychiatrist), it is ultimately a commentary on today's cinema: albeit a good film, it -- like the last few Oscar winners -- is only the "best" picture because so very few quality films are being made any more. Russell Crowe did deserve an Oscar, but got none. Jennifer Connelly and Ron Howard got Oscars, but did not deserve them.
