The Bees emerged in 2001, as the creative project of friends Paul Butler (vocals, guitar) and Aaron Fletcher (bass). Established in Isle of Wight, U.K., the duo involves within its creations joyful sounds of Latin grooves, funky beats and classical rock references, eventually conceiving a unique blend of electro-pop tunes. Still in 2001, the two-team offered its debut EP, Punchbag. The record first showed their lively and beaming creations and also a sensible Brazilian sound influence, namely by their cover version of a "A Minha Menina", an original themes of Os Mutantes. In 2002, and again on the We Love You Records label, the group delivered Sunshine Hit Me, their first full-length record.
