Best ultra zoom for reasaonable price

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jan 16, 2006 | 47 out of 48 found this Fujifilm FinePix S5200 review helpful

Pros: Cleanest photos without noise with high ISO sensitivity (till iso800 clean images, only in iso1600 some noise)

Cons: Nothing really stands out, almost perfect!

Fuji's new low noise super CCD sensor is work of art. You get for price of about 300$ photo quality of digital SLR camera. You can shoot indoors without flash to get beutifull real ambient photos, with flash there isn't red eyes effect, in hi...gh zoom telephoto shots there's no blur images. Video in VGA 640X480 resolution with 30fps .avi format is very quality. This is fastest high zoom camera starts up for just 1 sec, shot to shot 1 sec too (even less), fast focusing even in very low light. Incredible camera. Recomended!!! Read more Less

Pros: Easy to handle, great optical zoom, super pictures.

Cons: Some settings are a lttle deep in the program

Great pictures in low light and the anti shake works super. Just returned from Africa where I took many pictures of moving animals from a moving vehicle with sharp results.I am very impressed with the performance of this camera.

    Great camera

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Mar 9, 2006 | 18 out of 18 found this Fujifilm FinePix S5200 review helpful

Pros: Light weight, fits in hand great, a huge amount of features, long battery life, fast focusing, large zoom and more.

    Cons: No swivel LCD screen

This is a great camera. I would recommend it to anyone! The zoom is FANTASTIC, the macro mode is amazing and the black and white setting is beautiful. The camera has a great secure feel in your hand and the buttons are in good places on the body. The... battery life is incredible with rechargable batteries. Regular batteries don't last quite as long, but it's not bad. Again, this is a great camera, and I'd recommend it to anyone! Hope you found this review helpful! Read more Less

    Great shots

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Sep 17, 2006 | 16 out of 17 found this Fujifilm FinePix S5200 review helpful

Pros: Accurate colour, low noise at higher iso, erogamics, battery life

Cons: zoom operated by switch, bulky, lense biased to telephoto

I have been using cameras ranging from APS (yesterday's tech, SLRs (film)and 2 previous canon digital cameras. I bought this camera after reading reviews of film-lab technicians complimenting the colour accuracy of this camera. Pros: 1: Sur...e enough, the colour outcome of my shots were stunningly accurate. They did not exhibit the typical red bias most consumer camers have. 2: The grip and balance of the camera was great, reminding me of my SLR. 3: The battery life on the supplied alkali batteries stunned me. I could have gone on a 2 day trip without any spare batteries. 4: I liked the flexibility of having the higher ISOs without exhibiting objectionable noise (800 was ok). Fuji did a seriously good job with such a small CCD. 5: The Fujion lense is very sharp though there is a little purple fringing. 6: The zoom is more than I would ever need and its good for shots of animals (in trees etc). 7: Exposure button reminds me of my SLR. 8: The 55mm lense thread enable me to attach my UV and polarizing filter without awkward attachments. This allows me to be more creative in my shots. 9: Shutter lag is good if prefocused so no complaints there. Cons: 1: Chunky (but that aids in handling), Zoom is not operated on lense barrel (the S6000fd has this feature but is weighs 2x as much), 2: manual focus function is hopeless both LCD and EVF do not have the required resolution and unlike some cameras, the middle is not magnified to check on focus. 3: I would imagine taking shots in small areas would be a challenge(the lense is slightly biased to telephoto (38mm for 35mm film equiv). Overall, I would highly recommend this product for this price range as long as size is not a main consideration for you. Read more Less

Fujifilm S5200-Fuji hits a homerun again!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Aug 29, 2006 | 16 out of 18 found this Fujifilm FinePix S5200 review helpful

Pros: Price-Feature Laden-High Quality-Fantastic Pics! Easy to use and lots of versitility

Cons: Chinese made...all the other FujiFilm cameras I have are Japanese.

I bought it for my son, who is taking photography classes in Senior year High School. I want one now, but I already have 2 newer FujiFilm pont and shoots! I need a good camera for my business, as I take thousands of pics a month as a Motion Picture l...ocation scout. Looks like pro camera, black over black, has automatic pop up flash, easy to use right out of the box, incredible pic quality (and I have 3 SLR's and 3 Digital cams), color is deep and rich, controls are intuitive. Uses 4 AA batteries, no hard to find or expensive batteries. Smallish screen (1.8") but washes out less than most, plus you have a thru the lens viewfinder to peep through, color LCD also. Typically, Fuji cameras have great features for the price, well made, and the Super CCD technology is truely inovative! Highly suggest you go for it. Paid $239.00, and it was on clearance. Also get the FujiFilm 1 megabyte xd memory card for long videos and lots of pic storage. And I've made up my mind, I'm getting one for myself!! Read more Less

    Very satisfied

By Yahoo! Shopping User  May 9, 2006 | 3 out of 3 found this Fujifilm FinePix S5200 review helpful

    Pros: Great pictures

Cons: Night pictures aren't that great.

This is my first digital camera, but I had used my parent's camera for a while. I love this camera. It has basic settings for newer users, then it has more advanced features that I haven't even bothered trying yet. I am really pleased with th...e quality of the pictures. They are sharp and beautiful. I thought it would be huge and heavy and bulky before I got it, but it is surprisingly pretty bright. The zoom is awesome but to get a picture to be clear when you zoom all the way in, you would need a tripod. I am very pleased with this camera! Read more Less

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Mar 3, 2006 | 3 out of 4 found this Fujifilm FinePix S5200 review helpful

Pros: it does every thing i could expect a camera to do

Cons: no image stabiliser, kinda bulky

this is an alround wonderful camera. i do about 95% of shooting in auto, and i dont have any problems. the one thing that bugs me is how loud it can be when zooming and focusing, but most other cameras like this have the same problem, so its kinda a ...lose-lose situation. all-in-all its a great camera, easy to use, sturdy, light, and has lots of features. i give fuji a 5 outta 5 Read more Less

    Great Camera

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Mar 4, 2007 | 2 out of 2 found this Fujifilm FinePix S5200 review helpful

    Pros: Fantastic photos

    Cons: Can't find any yet

Recently purchased the FinePix S5200 and immediately put it through its paces. If you can read, you can use this camera right out of the box. Takes amazing pictures on auto everything; and with a little more studying of the manual, you can really g...et into the whole photo experience. I downloaded pics of my kids for starters and it was so easy to do after the software installation (easy) that I found myself taking pictures of everything, just to experiment. I'm planning a trip out west this summer, and wanted a camera to take pics of wildlife from a distance. The 10X zoom will do that and more. I'm thrilled with this camera: looks like an SLR only light as a feather. The viewfinder is small by comparison, but you can toggle between an LCD and optical viewfinder, so not a problem. Try it...you'll love it! Read more Less

    Fugi 5200

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Oct 4, 2006 | 2 out of 2 found this Fujifilm FinePix S5200 review helpful

    Pros: All good. exceptional camera

    Cons: none

This is a superior camera that can easily hold its own to any of the big names such as Canon etc. Not recommended for the novice or first foray into digital photography. The next step from this is a full feature SLR.
