In todays market the ability to have light-weight and user friendly pdas is a must. the toshiba 335i series is a good value in this category. Howeverthe lack of expandability and the price difference may persuade potential buyers including myself to ...consider other devices. For example the compaq ipaq has about seven different versions of an expansion sleeve available, toshiba has none. the option to use type2 pc card devices is very appealing as well as having a hard protective sleeve to prevent the reset switch from accidentally being activated is enough to alrady have me pricing the ipaq even though my toshiba is less than 1 month old. Buyer Beware

The e335 has the standard features that you would expect to see from a PDA in the class. The more affordable price is what convinced to purchase this versus the Tungsten(Palm) or one of the COMPAQs.The device is very lightweight and has some sort of ...aluminum casing that is prone to bending making the back uneven so it bounces around like a table at a pizza diner. You can twist it back, but it just seems fragile.I was pleased with the features and functions but would expect better customer service from an eastern block auto manufacturer than Toshiba. Everything was fine with my device for the first 3 months (except for the bending of the frame), then all of a sudden, neither my home or office PC would recognize my PDA. After 3 hours on the phone with tech support over the course of a week and them Fed Exing drivers to me, we figured out that the female coupling on my PDA had somehow been damaged so that it wouldnt recognize the device correctly. Here is where my EXTREME disgust with Toshiba comes into play. Most tech companies (PC Hardware, HDDs, Palm) offer a one year warranty against defects. They will allow the consumer to put a credit card out for the company to hold pending receipt of your defective device, the company ships the replacement to you, then you put your defective device in the box they sent with replacement, and you are all set. That is what I expected from Toshiba. That is world class service, but apparently Toshiba isnt in the business of offering world class service. This feature is available from Toshiba only within the first 30 days of ownership unless you have already been to the support site and realized that you can purchase an extended warranty. You must purchase this warranty within the first 30 days of having registered. I didnt see anything stating this but the manager at Toshiba insisted that it was in the fine print. This warranty is available for anywhere from $80 to $200. Which if you take this into account make sthe Toshiba more expensive than the other devices that I listed earlier in this review. This extended warranty will allow you to get this level of service, but why would a common users know that. They are still going to fix it, by having me send it in, but Im just SOL (dont need to explain) while it is at their facility being fixed. I complained to the supervisor and it appears that this is standard operating procedure for Toshibas devices. To me, the consumer, I cant be without my device for a week or two while its being fixed. If that were the case, then why do I need a PDA at all. I would NOT recommend buying from Toshiba for this reason alone and go with a company that has a better service policy like Palm or HP. You may spend an extra $50 bucks but you will get service that is worth something. Im very sorry to have spent any money of this device and just hope the bidders on Ebay wont read this review before I can put it up for sale. Read more Less

It's small, durable, easy to use, decent screen and pretty fast. The speaker is really loud and clear.

Cons - I should be able to change my own battery and I wish it came with an additional slot. It only has one.
