    A twodisc set released in the U.K., ‘80s Soul Weekender includes 40 tracks, almost all of which are deathless classics. Funnily enough, some picks are actually from the ‘70s (Earth, Wind Fire's “Boogie Wonderland," McFadden Whitehead's “Ain't No Stopping Us Now") that's hardly a deal breaker, though, because the compilation is simply too solid. Some of the more obvious picks include Chic's “Good Times," D Train's “You're the One for Me," Rick James' “Superfreak," and the Sugarhill Gang's “Rapper's Delight"; less popular cuts that are just as notable include Positive Force's “We Got the Funk," Donald Byrd's “Love Has Come Around," Slave's “Just a Touch of Love," and Yarbrough Peoples' “Don't Stop the Music."
