Pros: Out-of-this-world picture and storytelling

Cons: Really none

I can say just "WOW" and that would be enough of a review. This movie captures you and really makes you a part of the army of the ancient Sparta.Visual efects ? Are they to blame ? Not only them. I became a huge fan of Frank Miller trough the series of movies made by his graphic novels. He really cheats into making something spectacular. He is a fantastic storyteller and "300" is here to prove that. Historicly it isnt really corect (really as if - it barely is...) but does it even need to be ? Of corse not , the movie is here to entertain us. And the historical underline is still there - a small group of man chose to defend for freedom and free world.
"300" is in my personal top 10 movies , and to all - its a deffinite must-see.

Pros: Thegraphics and sound of this movie are its only real saving grace.

Cons: It actually looks like a comic book (er...graphic novel) come to life. The bloodshed and blatant sexuality are there just to be there.

A movie based on a "graphic novel"; what else is new?

This movie is based on a "graphic novel", but is graphic in and of itself. There is enough bloodshed and sexuality to make any average moviegoer happy. The bloodshed itself explains why the title of the movie was created the way that it was. It represents all the splattered blood in the movie.

On the more positive side, the sets, costumes, etc. actually do make the movie look like a comic book....er, "graphic novel" come to life--don't want to upset all the purists out there.

There is plenty of embellishing the historical aspect of the storyline between the SPartans and Xerxes's minions. The oversized rhino and elephants, and the monstrous beings that the Spartans fight simply do not seem believable. Oddly enough, they don't take away from the almost nonstop fight scenes.

So, to those who want a movie that does not require any thought, this movie is right up your alley, despite the Frank Miller's attemp to make history more than it is.

I loved this movie. I have watched it twice now and recomend it for any one who is into history, action, adventure films. This movie grabs you right from the beginning and is a roller coaster ride all the way to the end.
There has not been a movie to grasp me like this since King Arthur with Clive Owen. I can watch these two movies over and over again. My twelved year old has watched it with me.
She keeps asking me question. I feel that this should be a part of history class in school.
I cannot put into words how much this movie has moved me and touched me.

Pros: the theme and acting

Cons: none

this movie was amazing, i think it had great imagery and the acting was phenominal. the way that they had the king say- " seeing this i should have sent the women" (not perfect quote). It was TOTALLY AWESOME!

"they fought against 300.... now they will face the wrath of 10,000 spartans- sheilds and swords ready.....!"
