Disappointing "Trainspotting" Follow-up
Pros: Beautiful, Dark
Cons: Flawed plot, development
I expected better from the director of "Trainspotting"
. Somewhat inconsistent characters stumble around a beautifully sparse, post-apocalyptic, zombie-ridden London in this occasionally gory thriller. Impressive efforts for a low-budget movie, but the acting and plot are shadows of Boyle's previous triumph.Was this review helpful? Yes - NoFinally a decent script !!!

Cons: One scene that really wasn't up to the standard.
Listen to me future directors and young fans. Movies like these aren't perfect, they still could do a little better. They also shouldn't be rare, all movies should be up to this standard at least. The actors made the film believable, placing a personal feel, "like it was happening to them" type act. A flawless match, a great soundtrack is a must when making a movie hit, the mood-blending was perfect. The only thing I hated, but forgave was that one scene in the tunnel, where the infected looked like a bunch of late-night joggers. I mean come on... come..on. Fix that and we're cool. Til next time, don't waste your money on junk and support great films.

Good movies but got a little boring towards the end. Another thing was the virus affect people but once you got it should they not only kill unaffect one also kill the others who got it too??

USdvdMonster.com only charged us $1.58 to ship compared to a $3.50 charge or more at all other Internet stores we compared. I whole heartedly recommend trying that website. Absolutely one of the worst horror movies I have seen on the last 5 years, it is not even a real zombie movie to begin with!! the cinemetography is awful and it is not near graphic enough for zombie film. This is a complete steaming pile of you know what. The DVD box would make a good coaster however.

28 Days Later is one of those films that you will want to see over and over again. The plot is really good! You'll just love the way that the characters change as the story progresses. When it ends, you'll be begging for more and wishing that you could talk to the characters. After watching this, you will appreciate life more readily and constantly see things from a different perspective.
If you don't love this movie, you need to get your head checked out. Cillian Murphy is a truly gifted actor, better than any of the losers in the states!!!!!!!!!

Pros: Excellent Acting
Cons: Somewhat Predictable
A very well acted movie even if the plot was somewhat predictable. The story does follow a somewhat 'slasher' type mentality with the lead character starting out as timid as a mouse, stumbling over his own shadow yet somehow he manages to change before your eyes and overcome a group of highly trained/well armed soldiers to save the girls in distress.

Cons: the human condition is mainly based on a darker side
I will not review my take on the "tech candy" on the dvd release...rather on the film its self.
the story on its own is a basic one in recent years...the virus that escapes containment. from there it is the direction the story takes that sets it apart from recent virus and zombie films. the evolution of each of the three main characters is great, with two story twists that were well placed...even if one was kind of easy to guess. the foreshadowing was nice, subtle and not easy to pinpoint as their were many fake-out foreshadowings. overall...nice couple of hours of visual entertainment.Was this review helpful? Not quite what I had expected. The whole movie seemed to move very s l o w. Given the story line, there could have been a lot more done with the movie that wasn't. Overall, it was a big disappointment and a waste of two hours.

Cons: It doesn't end soon enough
Very disappointing. As a horror movie, it's not very horrifying. As a thriller, it's not very thrilling. The acting is sub-par and the plot is sophmoric and predictable. I have heard that there are alternate endings in the DVD... I hope it includes alternate beginnings and middles, too. (Not that I'll be buying it!!!).

Cons: people who say it sucks
Great movie. To start off, the plot was good. I mean, it was so realistic, which is and odd thing to say when you're talking about people turning into the undead. Secondly, the actors were great at their job, even though I did not know one of them, for this was a foreign movie. The action was cool. It wasn't so much gun action, but the zombies killing people and the survivers running for their lives non stop made it big time action. And the zombies, man they were sooo freaky looking. It was told that this was a low budget movie which didn't use a big time technology type of video camera, but still, the way it was made was freakier than anyone else could've done with high tech stuff. This movie was scary, and trust me, I am not a person to get scared over horror flicks. And also what was cool, they didn't need all the sex, drug use, and bad language to make this a good, genuine adult horror flick. So yeah, as soon as it comes out on dvd the 21st of October, you bet I'll buy it. So I stronly recommend buying it to, and if you can't or aren't really sure about the movie, at least rent it, I am sure you'll love it to. So, all in all, I give it a big, fat 5.

If there was only one movie I could own it would be this movie. It gets down the basics of what humans would really be like in the time of a crisis. It is definately a must see.

Now a days its hard to find a good "zombie" flik. It was a little slow for starters, but when it picked up it really picked up and the thought of an alternate ending makes me want to go see it again. I think I'm gonna.

I saw this opening day. At first I wasn't quite sure what to think. All of the reviews kept listing it as a zombie movie, so I kept thinking it was going to be similar to George Romero's films. It turned out to be one of the best films I have seen recently. For the survivors in the film, survival is a real issue. The infected are incredibly fast and work together like a team almost. It seems as though most of their intelligence is gone, but they are much more lethal than the zombies in your typical zombie-movie. The scene in the beginning where Selena kills Mark sets the stage for the rest of the movie..."You have 10-20 seconds to kill someone once they become infected before they attack. DONT watch it expecting extreme gore and extreme scares...the movie isn't really about that.

First, let me start off by saying that if you like stupid movies with nothing but violence, sex, and extremly lame plots, this movie is not for you. Movies like these are why I love foriegn films so much! American movies tend to be such BS fantasy action movies with extremly unrealistic stories. But I digress...
28 Days Later is a masterpiece; a true work of art. This movie makes you realize the true importance of survival, and the harsh reality behind our own human nature. This movie should not ever be considered a "zombie movie", or a mainstream horror flick of any kind. The story is very intricate and detailed, but is not overly complicated. The acting is excellent, and the "infected" are terrifying. This movie is very twisted in nature, and is not for the weak-minded. 28 Days Later is an incredibly refreshing change from the garbage that Hollywood vomits at us from the assembly line of crap.
