I saw this opening day. At first I wasn't quite sure what to think. All of the reviews kept listing it as a zombie movie, so I kept thinking it was going to be similar to George Romero's films. It turned out to be one of the best films I h...ave seen recently. For the survivors in the film, survival is a real issue. The infected are incredibly fast and work together like a team almost. It seems as though most of their intelligence is gone, but they are much more lethal than the zombies in your typical zombie-movie. The scene in the beginning where Selena kills Mark sets the stage for the rest of the movie..."You have 10-20 seconds to kill someone once they become infected before they attack. DONT watch it expecting extreme gore and extreme scares...the movie isn't really about that. Read more Less

Pros: good movie

Cons: people who say it sucks

Great movie. To start off, the plot was good. I mean, it was so realistic, which is and odd thing to say when you're talking about people turning into the undead. Secondly, the actors were great at their job, even though I did not know one of the...m, for this was a foreign movie. The action was cool. It wasn't so much gun action, but the zombies killing people and the survivers running for their lives non stop made it big time action. And the zombies, man they were sooo freaky looking. It was told that this was a low budget movie which didn't use a big time technology type of video camera, but still, the way it was made was freakier than anyone else could've done with high tech stuff. This movie was scary, and trust me, I am not a person to get scared over horror flicks. And also what was cool, they didn't need all the sex, drug use, and bad language to make this a good, genuine adult horror flick. So yeah, as soon as it comes out on dvd the 21st of October, you bet I'll buy it. So I stronly recommend buying it to, and if you can't or aren't really sure about the movie, at least rent it, I am sure you'll love it to. So, all in all, I give it a big, fat 5. Read more Less

Disappointing "Trainspotting" Follow-up

I expected better from the director of "Trainspotting"

Finally a decent script !!!

Pros: The actors, the music, and the overall feel.

Cons: One scene that really wasn't up to the standard.

Listen to me future directors and young fans. Movies like these aren't perfect, they still could do a little better. They also shouldn't be rare, all movies should be up to this standard at least. The actors made the film believable, placing ...a personal feel, "like it was happening to them" type act. A flawless match, a great soundtrack is a must when making a movie hit, the mood-blending was perfect. The only thing I hated, but forgave was that one scene in the tunnel, where the infected looked like a bunch of late-night joggers. I mean come on... come..on. Fix that and we're cool. Absolutely one of the worst horror movies I have seen on the last 5 years, it is not even a real zombie movie to begin with!! the cinemetography is awful and it is not near graphic enough for zombie film. 28 Days Later is one of those films that you will want to see over and over again. The plot is really good! You'll just love the way that the characters change as the story progresses. When it ends, you'll be begging for more and wishing th...at you could talk to the characters. After watching this, you will appreciate life more readily and constantly see things from a different perspective.If you don't love this movie, you need to get your head checked out. Cillian Murphy is a truly gifted actor, better than any of the losers in the states!!!!!!!!!P.S. Watching it just once will not suffice. It needs to be watched as many times as possible.
