Pros: Front and rear disc brakes, adjustable suspension fork, WTB tires and seat.

Cons: No documentation on how to properly adjust the disc brakes. Heavier than average. Rear shock is just your basic bike shock.

I've had this bike for over two months now, and all I can say is that it's great for a department store bike. Sure you can find a better bike at your local bike shop, but for this price, it'll be a hardtail (front suspension only), and la...st year, or the year before's, model. And, you'll still have basically the same other components. It has an RST Capa T6 fork, WTB Velociraptor 2.1 tires and Speed V seat, Promax mechanical disc brakes, front and rear (I wanted to have a bike with front and rear disc. Many bikes have just front nowdays), Quando wheel hubs with quick release tabs front and rear, SR Suntour crankset, and Shimano front and rear derailleurs rear 8 gear cassette with shimano integrated brake handles/shifters. This bike is very upgradable. My old bike is the Mongoose DXR AL, and I was very limited on upgrades. With the Blackcomb, I can have any real upgrade out there. You can even install hydraulic front and rear disc brakes (the brake line can be run along the frame to the rear through the guides with no modification). With disc brakes you get the same performance dry, wet or mud. There's no loss of power if you go through water or mud. Rim brakes can't promise that easily! If all you have is 300 bucks to spend on a bike, get this one. You won't have to upgrade any time soon. Read more Less
