Like a rollercoaster ride. Unthinkable events take place. By the end of it, you are left wondering what series 5 is going to be about.

    24 - Season Four (2005)

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Oct 25, 2006

    Pros: 24 - Season Four (2005)

    Cons: 24 - Season Four (2005)

24 is a current Emmy and Golden Globe award-winning American television series, created by Joel Surnow and Robert Cochran, and produced by Imagine Television. It is broadcast in the USA by the Fox Network and syndicated worldwide. The show first air...ed on November 6, 2001, with an initial thirteen episodes. After leading actor Kiefer Sutherland won a Golden Globe for his role in the first 10 episodes, the ratings were boosted, which prompted FOX to order the second half of the series. The sixth season will begin in January of 2007. Each season covers the events of a 24 hour period in the life of federal agent Jack Bauer (played by Kiefer Sutherland) as he tries to prevent one or more domestic terrorist attacks, set largely in Los Angeles. The show also follows Jack's colleagues at the Counter Terrorist Unit Los Angeles office, as well as the actions of the terrorists, a civilian family and typically an important political figure such as a senator or president. The first five days follow a similar format: a main story arc featuring Jack Bauer and the Counter Terrorist Unit dealing with a threat posed to national security. Surprise sacrifices, backstabbings, and other plot twists are common.[1] Each season also has several major subplots that span most of the episodes and are interwoven within the main plot. Throughout each season, Jack Bauer often faces intense personal anguish in addition to his tasks to stop the terrorists. Each season is aired in real-time and starts at the top of the hour on a given day. Each episode portrays one hour of that day, with one season comprising 24 episodes or a day in the life of Jack Bauer. The show is set largely in Los Angeles, so the "time" is set in Pacific Standard Time for the 4th season and Pacific Daylight Time for the other seasons. Every episode that succeeded Season 1 begins with: "The following takes place between [time] and [time]." During Season 1, the voice-over was "The following takes place between [time] and [time] on the day of the California Presidential Primary. Events occur in real time." The first season also had several episodes open with, "I'm Federal Agent Jack Bauer, and today is the longest day of my life." Day 4 It's been 18 months since Jack Bauer averted a deadly crisis in Los Angeles. However, he was fired from CTU, and now has got a new lease on life, as a senior advisor to Secretary of Defense James Heller. He also has found a new love in his life in the form of his boss's daughter, Audrey Raines. But an impeding hostage crisis concerning his new boss develops, that leaves Jack's new life shattered. Jack must reclaim his past life, as a CTU agent, in order to save the life he has made for himself. As the day unfolds several contingencies are revealed, all planned by Turkish terrorist Habib Marwan. Each of Marwan's attacks proves even more devastating than its predecessor and CTU must race to find him before he unleashes a terror America has never had to deal with before. Read more Less

They only had it right for three seasons

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jul 9, 2006

    Pros: very suspenseful and thrilling

Cons: too much plot and far too little character development

The show was destined to burn out with the 24 hour premise and it started to get thin towards the end of Season 3 but by this season they have totally jumped the proverbial shark. This season has one episode that is excellent--when Jack busts out Aud...rey and the Sec. of Defense. The rest of it is garbage and free associations of one potential catastrophe and conspiracy linked to another. Season five is ridiculous. Anyone watching and loving the show in seasons 4 and 5 has missed the best of the writing. Seasons one and two were excellent. Bold and gutsy for television, even season 3 worked because of the virus threat they were using and how terrifying that is. But seasons 4 & 5 are a very different show. And frankly by then it sucks. Buy Sleeper Cell instead. Darwyn is a real hero, by Season 4 Jack just threatens, beats up or sticks a gun in the face of everyone to get them to agree with him. It's weak. Read more Less

    The Best Season Yet

By Yahoo! Shopping User  May 17, 2006

    Pros: Great story,Great sound,Great everything

Cons: A slow start but not to slow

This is 24 best season so far. I loves the show from the start but it did have it flaws in the first season but onces you see 24 season 4 you will love the show until the end and it will make you want to wach it over and over. I like the fact that yo...u could see the deleted scenes when you wach the show or if you want to see all 39 deleted scenes, and a very cool prequel for season five there is a seventh disk for you to chick it out. I hope season five ends as good as this one. Read more Less

Is this the end for Jack??!!.....nah, can't be!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Mar 16, 2006

Pros: As I've said before, too many to mention

Cons: The ending of the season leaves you wondering too much, plus there's so unanswered questions

Yes folks, here I am again, with my review of 24: Season Four(4). Once again, nothing but the best for this show. It still had me caught up in the suspense/action, and still hooked on this show. Although there are alot of unanswered questions, it was... still another excellent season! Granted, the ending will have most, if not all, wondering and guessing...is this REALLY it for Jack?? But for those on Season Five(5) right now, I'm guessing that question's already answered. As you know, Season Five is now playing on tv, it's in the middle or toward the end of the season by now. I'm not one to just jump from one section of a show to another. I like to go in exact order, and you HAVE to with this show, otherwise you'll be lost trying to follow the whole story. With that said, it looks like I'm gonna have to wait until it's released out on DVD. I'm hoping I'll have time to watch all of Five, and then, if there will even be a Season Six, be ready for it when it starts on tv. That's my plan, but we'll see how that goes. Other than that though, again as I've said before, I HIGHLY recommed 24: Season Four to those that are ready to continue the adventures of Jack Bauer!! Season Five...here I come!!! LOL Enjoy!! And as always... "If you don't watch 24, you don't know JACK!!!" Read more Less
