    Nice followup to 2001.

    Of course 2010 wouldn't meet the impact of 2001, and no one knew it more than director Peter Hyam. So what he did is make more of a traditional film and not making it as poetic (which is better in my opinion). 2010 has a joint space mission with Amer...icans and Russians as they go and retrieve the ship "Discovery". 2010 shows the claustrophobia of space really well and has good performances by the whole cast. Fans of 2001, give this a try and keep an open mind, though it may not as be as good as 2001, it still is a classic Science Fiction Film. I still wish the filmmakers would bring the novels 2061 and 3001 to the silver screen. Read more Less

    If the other reviewer would have taken the time to look at the movie synopsis he/she would have realized that Kubrick had nothing to do with this film. And while it isn't anywhere near 2001 in terms of greatness, it is good enough to hold it's own w...ith other Sci-Fi pictures. Good, not great. Read more Less

    Why couldn't he stop with the masterpiece of 2001? Why? Was it fame? Fortune? Freedom? Filosophy? Some deep dark force fed fodder of fiction to frame a flatulent film. And the more flatulent, the better! Where was the originality? Where were the ape...s that defended their turf? What about those excellent "first-person" views from HAL's very own camera/eyeballs? None of that. If only Stan had entrusted the sequel to the handy sequel-making capabilities of Robert Zemeckis. Yes. Read more Less
