    This is it! This is the LP one must buy if you want to understand just what JB has meant to contemporary music as we know it today. This has never been more evident with the advent of rap music as a new and provacative art form. Because, plain and si...mple,there would be no such thing as rap, without James Brown. Almost exclusively, the dawn of rap music started with some kid wondering what his words would sound like under a James Brown riff.This is how it all began. Covering his prime stretch from the late '50s through the early '70s, 20 All-Time Greatest Hits includes early RB milestones ("Please, Please, Please"), epochal '60s sides ("Papa's Got a Brand New Bag, Pt. 1"), and latter-day funk classics ("Papa Don't Take No Mess, Pt. 1").
