    Orwell's classic book of negative utopia makes it way to the big screen thanks to the spectacular efforts of Micheal Radford. The movie perfectly illustrates the stunning inhumanity of life in the fictitious Oceania. The movie perfectly replecates ...Orwell's vision of the future as he saw it. John Hurt makes the perfect Winston Smith and Suzanna Hamilton fits the part for Julia. Richard Burton's last film debut is made here as O'Brien. Seldom has a movie made such an impact.     The film captures the gritty conditions described in Orwell's book. It makes a few departures, but overall, is quite faithful. A bleak and numbing view of totalitarianism purely for the sake of power, 1984 should be read by everyone remotely interest...ed in politics. Afterward, watch this movie, and feel like you're in Oceania. Read more Less
