    A mind-expanding voyage

    This album is amazing. it opened a whole new realm of imagination that was hidden in some long-forgotten sector of my dome. Before I heared a friend of mine playing this album i never considered spending money on "that new-age" stuff.The whole album... has a fluidity to it, and its one of the few albums that i prefer listening to it in its entirity.Its calming; and in a wierd sense inspiring and empowering, due to its several emotional climaxes throughout.***** Read more Less

    Far better than any other work I've heard from Vangelis, this album is deep and rich in detail, with some very moving songs that stand well on their own.

    A good buy, and a must buy if you liked the movie.

    Suitably grand in scale and farreaching in its scope, this soundtrack is the first new music from Vangelis since 1990's The City. 1492 stands up well next to Vangelis's classic Chariots of Fire, due to his innate ability to get right inside the material and provide an integral part of the film itself. Vangelis succeeds in capturing the 15thcentury mood, mixing rich choral portions with modern elements, and portraying the larger than life character of Columbus, complete with fullrange, dynamic sound.
