The 116 Clique (pronounced oneonesix click) is a Christian hip hop group from Dallas, Texas signed to Reach Records. Group membersf Lecrae, Tedashii, Json, Thi'sl, Sho, and Trip Lee blend of style of hip hop similar to fellow Texans UGK and Lil ‘Flip with Christian theme it's Bun B meets Kirk Franklin. The group derives its name from the biblical scripture Romans 1:16, which reads: "For I am not ashamed of the gospel: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believes; to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile." They debuted with the The Compilation Album in 2005. DJ Primo remixed the original recordings in Texas fashion the following year with The Compilation Album : Chopped Screwed : Special Edition, it included four bonus tracks. In 2007 they released 13 Letters, the album name respresenting the 13 letters Paul wrote to first century Christian congregations.
