METALLICA in my mind are the GODS of rock, always being who they are neverything else, always true to themselves. The AND JUSTICE FOR ALL albam is perhaps one of there greatest acomplishments. Both Kick your ass hard and also something you can relate too. In my own opion this is the best albam they have prouduced. So if you dont have this albam I suggest get it.

This is Metallica's second best work besides master of puppets and people that say that black is better make me want to kick them in the face

Yeah this is their last great album, I still think Master of Puppets is the best album they have ever produced but be sure to buy this one aswell.

This was the album after Cliff Burton was killed in that crash, and his spot was filled by Jason Newstead. I do know this was the last great CD from them. To me by far this was their most agressive cd, they had alot of feelings to channel after losing cliff, like anger, grief, ect. The Single for "One" brought them in to the video age, making a music video for it and it was the begining of the end. Don't bother with anything of theirs after this album, not worth the time.

Cons: Metallica's lyrics will never be confused with Radiohead's
Firstly, I would like to say that his logic of "Newstead sucks because Hendrix and Randy Rhodes were better." Thats like saying Micky Mantle sucked because Ted Williams and Babe Ruth were better. Great album, not as good as Master but close, hurt by the production, Not sure what happened because Master sounds great. But good songs, music, solos.

With all due respects to Master of Puppets, Ride the Lightning, and Kill em All, this is the best of the real Metallica. The songs sound crisp and clean. The production on this album was concise and tight. And to think that 15 years ago, this was going to be the last true Metallica album for a long time (maybe ever!!)

This album is breathtaking. I honestly could listen to this all day. I'm awed by the beating of the drums from Ulrich, the vibrant, fast solos of Hammet, the steady bass of Newsted, and the soothing growls of Hetfield's voice. This is the best album that the band has released in my opinion. If you're thinking of getting into Metallica, I suggest that this be the first album that you get.
