The beer company recently released a photo of a more modern-looking bottle that will hit bars and restaurants this summer.
The new bottle is still brown with a blue label, but the shape is entirely different. Perhaps most notable is that the top of the bottle is broader than the bottom. The bottle's neck is also shorter.
In a press release from MillerCoors, the company says the bottle was "inspired by form and design" and that its "contoured grip" is "intended for easy handling from the bar to the pool table."
Ryan Reis, senior director of Miller Lite, is quoted in the press release as saying, "We’re proud of the new design and we’re excited to see how everyone reacts to our new look. This time when you grab a Miller Lite, you’ll know it.”

This marks the first time in 40 years that the Miller Lite bottle has gone through a major update, according to Gizmodo. Other beverage companies (both alcoholic and non-) have been on a tear with new packaging this year, as well.
Heineken launched a new bottle design with a longer neck earlier this year. Budweiser recently came up with bow tie-shaped cans. And Pepsi rolled out a new design for its 20-ounce bottle, the first time the company has changed the bottle in 17 years.
